Structure, governance and management

The managing committee members are elected or appointed on an annual basis, with the officers being elected from the membership of the Managing Committee. The Annual General Meeting is held in October.

The charity was established by Trust Deed dated 23rd April 2018 by the charity members and is registered with the Charity Commission, No: 1178045. The Charity address is 99 Coburg Road, London, SE5 0HU.

On the accounts of New Peckham Mosque Trust for the year ended 31st May 2024 Set out on pages 3 to 6

Respective responsibilities of	The charity trustees are responsible for the preparation of the
members and examiners'	accounts.
	The trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year as
	the accounts do not meet the requirements for one under the section
	145 of the Charities Act 2011, and that an independent examination
	is needed.
	It is my responsibility to:
	1. examine the accounts under the 2011 Act,
	2. to follow the procedures laid down in the general directions given
	by the Charity Commission, and
	3. to state whether particular matters that have come to my attention.
Basis of independent	My examination was carried out in accordance with general
examiner's statement	Directions given by the Charities Act 2011.
	An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by
	the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those
	records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or
	disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the
	members concerning any such matters.
	The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that
	would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given
	as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view and the
	report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
Independent examiner's	In connection with my examination, two matter has come to my
statement	attention. Not all expenditures were substantiated with invoices and
	cash donations are not recorded accurately.
	1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material
	respect, the requirements:
	(i) to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of
	the 2011 Act; and
	(ii) to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records
	and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act have
	not been met ; or
	2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to
	enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

The accounts have been compiled on a basis that enables profits to be calculated in accordance with UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice and that provides sufficient and relevant information to enable the completion of a tax return.
