Achievements and Performance
Main Achievements
The podcast series A land without music? featured episodes on the value of music, music in education, music and health,
AI. arts funding a well as full length interviews with some of the guests.
It has, to date, reached over 5000 individual listeners and formed a significant part of the Sound World campaign in support
of rnu5ic, highlighting the inadequate 5UPPQrt it receive5 frotn government. Lt led to a number of opportunitie5 to bring the
subject to wider attention including being invited to make a presentation to the All Party Parliamentary Gmup on Music
Education in the House of Lords.

Financial Position
The charity's financial position 15 in sufficient health to meet all obligations over the next year but a series of disappointing
fundlng outcomes have severely impacted our abllity to develop new projects.

Accountant's report to the board of trustees on the preparation of the unaudited statutory accounts of Sound
World for the year ended 5 April 2025.
In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Charities Act 2011, we have prepared for your approval the financial
Statements of Sound World for the year ended 5 April 2025 which comprise the Statement of Financial Activitie5 (including
Income and Expendlture Accounti, statement of Financial Posillon and the related notes from the charity's accounting records
and from information 2nd explanations which you have provided us with.
This report is made solely to the board of trustee5 of the charity, as a body, in accordance with our letter of engagement
dated . Our work has been undertaken solely to prepare For your approval the financial statements of Sound World, and state
those matters that have agreed to state to the board of trustees of the charity, as a body, in this report. To the fullest
extent per￿l￿ted by law, we do not accept or as5urne responsibility to anyone other than Sound World and its board of
trustees, as a body, for our work or for thls report.
It is your duty to ensure that Sound World has kept sufficient accounting records and to prepare statutory financial

l. General Information
Sound World is a charitable incorporated organisation registered with the Charity Commission, registered charity number
1178026. The principal address Is 40 High Street, Claverh3m, Bristol, BS49 4NE.

2. 1. Basis of Preparation of Financial Statements
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 "Accounting and
Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (effective I
January 20191. Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Stsndard applicable in the UK and Republic
of Ireland 2nd the Charities Act 2011.
The charity is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
2.2. Fund Accounting
Unrestrlcted funds can be used In accordance wlth the charitable objectives at the dlscretlon of the trustees.
Designated funds comprise unrestricted funds that h3ve been set 3side by the trustees for a specific purpose.
Restricted funds are to be used for specific purposes as laid down by the donor.
Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund 15 included in the notes to the financial 5tatetnents.
2.3. Incoming Resources
All income isrecognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity ha sentitlement to the funds, it is
pmbable that the Income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably.
2.4. Resources Expended
Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as soon as there is a legal or constructive obligation cornmitting the charity to
that expenditure, It is probable that 3 transfer of economic benefits will be required In settlement and the amount of
the obligation can be rneasured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accrua15 basis and ha5 been classified
under headings that aggregate all cost related to the category. Where costs cannot be dlrectly attributed to P8rtlcular
headings they have been allocated to artivities on a basis consistent with the use of resources.
2.5. Taxation
The charity is exempt fmm corporation tax on its charitable activities.
