Trustees Report
This is the thlrd Annual Report of the Friend5 of St Peterfs, Afvescot IFoSPsl.
As the trustees reflected on FOSPS attivity over the past academic year in preparation for the AGM,
we did so mindful of the ever-present context of the contlnuing Covid-19 pandemic, which ha5 had
such a dramatic impact on the Itves of all of us within the school community and beyond. When we
began the academic year back in September 2020 we had hoped that FOSPS events would soon
return to in-person fundraisers rather than virtual events- not one of us expected that we would still
be managing such significant restrictions on the way in which we could come together a5 the
academic year closed. The impact of the considerable limitstions on the way in which we could all
Share in and celebrate school life, pupils. achievements and raise imwrtant funds to support St
Peterfs was perhap5 most keenly felt towards end of the summertem, when we were unable to
conduct our usual summer events. This was particularly disappointing given that this summer
marked St Peterf5 first year as a full primary and also saw our first Year 6 leavers move on to
secondary education. We were $0 pleased, however. to be able to ￿cognise and celebrate this
Important milestone in both the school'5 history and their educational journey by or8anising the
leaver5' disco, which was a great success and hopefully will become a permanent fixture In the FOSPS
calendar of event5.
We have still, however, achieved a great deal together in difficult circumstances. In the year endln8
31st August 2021. FOSPS and its supporters mana8ed to raise £44SO, a figure comparable to that
whlch we would hope to raise in more normal times and testament to the B￿at support we have
received from all those involved In the school.
Achievements and p•rformanc8
Fundralslng Hlghllghts
The restrictions placed on all our lives have. of course, had a consideroble impact upon our ability to
run the comprehensive programme of fundraisin8 activities on behalf of the school that we would
have hoped to over the academic year, but that should not detract from some noteworthy
achievements in the past 12 month5, which would not have been possible without the sUPPOrt of
the entire school community. Dvring the school year 2020121, FOSPS has generated over £6,200 in
income. which has been used to pay for a variety of resources, books and equipment, an impressive
figu￿ when one considers our posrtion as a small rural school. Despite the lack of a bazaar,
Christmas fundraisin8 raised over £l.tXK) and we have also benefited from a £510 8rant generously
provided by Bampton Village Community Shop. Additionally, over £8CM) wa5 generated by the Lotto,
Ice cream Fridays raised over £670, more than £270 was generated from the Harvest Trail and Silver
Smartles raised just over £210.
This year we have been able to fund a KS2 laptop charging station and storage cabinet, costin8 over
£1,600. Over £4(K) has been spent on a cla55 Set of reading books and a set of RE books. We have
also committed to funding over £l,(KQ worth of software subscriptions for packages such as Times
Table Aockstars,, 'WhiteRose Maths,, 'Parentmail' and more.

Against the continuing backdrop of the global pandemic as a board of trustees we intend to remain
Innovatlve In the way we fundraise over the month5 ahead. We k)ok forward to the next academic
year and will identify opportunities to come together. virtualty if necessary, as a school community
to continue to support our school.
Objectlves and Supportlng Activitie8
FoSPs' primary objective is to help 'advance the education of the pupils at St. Pete¢s Primary School,
Alvescot,. Our organisation. which was created in 2018, is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation

At the beginning of each academic year, FOSPS discusses with the Head Teacher and the wider school
team the specific objertives for the comlng school year and the funding that 15 required to fulfil
these objectlves. These proposals are then discussed and agreed in principle by the trustees.
Numerous fundraSslng events are held throughout the school year in pursuit of the a8reed
fundraising objectives. Recurrent projects and actNities included 'Fruity Fridays,, the HaNest Show
and Trail, the 50150 Lotto, the Christmas Ba2aar, Silver Smarties. the traditional Easter Egg Hunt,
