This is a ncrh15Lkbedded hospital s6rving pulation of up to 120,000 in a very remote and rural comer of Sout West Uganda. In 2021>21 REACH Bwindi awarded grants trtslling £51.879.00 to Bwindi Ct)mmunty Hosprtal, all in line wtth our procedures previoustry submfft8d to the Chartties Commission. These grants enabled.. Paediatric nursing staff salaries for 9 nurses, enabling towualty paediatric in-patient care. Neonatal survival improved from 87.7% to SY).5% over the year and overall patient sats'sfaction was 96%. The sa18ries were funded by grants in Ocacthr 2020 covering the months of o￿ober. November and D￿ember 2020 {£7,494} and once again granted fL¥ the month of January 20211£25001. Communty dinical staff salaries in the departments of Communty Health and in HIV, enabling communty outreaches providing preventative Med￿1n6. mentsl healthcare, [￿tnatal checks and other essentsal medical care to the 101 remote villages seNed by the Hospital. a p)pulation of over 70.000. The ￿hIeveMentS by these staff have been staggering. for example in HIV, 5257 people were tested overall" all Ihose teth'ng posrtive are enrolled on trèatment: of these 94.8% ar8 viralty suppressed and preventron of ffl￿h8r-t￿ehI￿l tranSmiss￿n was 99.6%. Every pregnant woman in the communty and those who had had malaria at Bwindi Hosprtal were gi¥en a mosquito net. Preventative programmes for malnutrition over the years have reduc￿1 the prevalence of Severe malnutritson in children to less thon 1% in the communty. Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the basis of report preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
