AFRICAN CARIBBEAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION (UK)

ANNUAL REPORT APRIL 2021 – 2022

SUMMARY OF REPORT:

The charity in April 2021 had a virtual trustee away day which helped the team re-focus the aims and objectives with the view to ensure that the activities and events being held are within these aims. We also had to refund a donation which was accidentally transferred twice to us (amounting to a refund of £385.56).

The charity has also paid for the website hosting including domain name (Wix) and a social media calendar (ContentCory). It also paid for Zoom Professional in June.

The charity had a new hub member – ACMA Midlands. It also supported its branches financially if their application to the Trustee board is approved. ACMA Southampton branch received monies totalling £55 to support their activities in September 2021.

For the new financial year April 2022 – April 2023, the charity plans to apply for formal funding from sponsors e.g., BMA, MDU, Ethicon, Medtronic etc. to pay for memorabilia and to support new branches being formed.

IMPRESSION AND PLAN:

Through continued public donations, we have been able to raise money for the charity to support our aims and objectives. We have identified the need for stable income to help support this and achieved through public donations by direct debits.

This financial year, majority of costs went onto the website and social media platforms as well as trustee planning meetings.

We also aim for our income to increase through donations and pledges. We are in the process of increasing our trustee board to include members with a financial and accounting background to review our funding and accounts to ensure that we are open and transparent with the charity’s spending and accountable to our supporters and donors.
