ONE AND ALL AID, TRUSTEE REPORT, YEAR TO 30[TH] JUNE 2023

Operations continued as usual.

Our primary source of revenue is the charity shop, run by the trustees and a dedicated team of volunteers; so nobody is paid.

Our secondary source is fundraising by soliciting donations, of which the largest came (and continues to come) from Bylo Chacon Foundation (now renamed Woven Foundation). This is a US-based organisation supporting education for populations which have been victims of genocide.

Our outgoings are dominated by the costs of funding two “Child Friendly Spaces” (schools in all but name) for Yezidi children in and near Sinjar, Iraq, following the 2014 genocide there.

We also spend much smaller amounts shipping donations of in-kind aid.

Note: the deficit over the years has been funded by loans from James Batty, trustee. Over time these loans are being forgiven and converted to donations as James has enough taxable income to make such donations subject to Gift Aid. £12,000 was forgiven in the year to 30[th] June 2022, another £12,000 in the year to 30[th] June 2023.

Operating costs for the schools rose because these are paid in US dollars, and the exchange rate was against us after the UK’s mini-budget.

ONE AND ALL AID, INDEPENDENT REPORT ON FINANCIALS

Accounts are on a cash basis.

All receipts (shop takings) are banked intact, and all costs and expenses are paid from the bank account; so the accounts are easy to verify by referring to bank statements.

The accounting records have been kept properly, and the financial statements are an accurate reflection of these records.
