This in part is driven by cost increases across the board ## **Grants** ## **KFC** WIFC were successful in 2022 of applying for a grant totalling £2000 towards young people at risk. The project scope for this consisted of “This would see us target at risk young people, children in homes and on the streets and offer them guidance, support & sport” The plan was broken into 3 sectors. Part 1 would see 1 person fully trained up to give them the opportunity in life to build confidence and gain a possible future career. This person is was in severe poverty and comes from a disadvantaged background. This was completed in 2023 Part 2 seen us offer free youth sessions for a limited time to assist with the cost of living crisis. Our plan was to start this after Christmas 2022 and run this from 11th January 2023 49 Plas Isaf, Rhosymedre, Wrexham LL14 3EW Registered Charity Number:1177896 Wrexham Inclusion Football Club Est 2011 until May 3rd 2023. The cost to us would be £31.25 per week for the hall, so for 15 weeks this would come to £468.75 Part 3 then seen our youth volunteer plan to hold a tournament with local care homes/ specialist housing. It brought together disadvantaged people and offer them the opportunity that would not normally be possible. In turn by seeing what the club offers it may enable our numbers to grow on a weekly basis therefore helping these individuals in the long term. It was fully covered by the club for the over 50 participants with a hot meal included ## **CO-OP** The club participated in the latest round of local giving which was aimed at continuing our current projects whilst supporting further growth. The club was awarded £1042.90 from members selecting WIFC as their local giving choice towards runnings costs of the club. These were used towards Transport running costs (£988.68) to ensure availability of sessions to service users and Equipment purchases (£126.99) the overspend of £72.77 was covered from the clubs accounts. ## **Groundwork** The club were awarded £1125 from Tesco’s groundwork with the aim of covering Sports hall fees , Up skilling volunteers - education and training and Rewards and incentives. ## **Existing 48 Week Project** The club successfully completed the facility hire cover in February 2023 ## **Football Manager’s Comments** 2023 seen a small increase in participants but unfortunately the club is constantly restricted due to being at maximum capacity and the inability to further expand sessions to offer any more places. We see around 70 service users each month but the increases in facility hire cause a reality check of cost vs affordability which results in the income only covering the bare minimum cost 2023 has been seen as a struggle for the club and this is mainly due to the volunteers time and not having enough volunteers to take the club forward or expand the club any further. we have still managed some in house competitive fixtures, one of the main highlights was hosting the Australian Futsal team, it was such a brilliant experience to which our players will not forget Volunteer availability is our biggest risk we face and even though we have tried to recruit there simply is a lack of availability of suitable candidates with the right skills to take us forward. 49 Plas Isaf, Rhosymedre, Wrexham LL14 3EW Registered Charity Number:1177896 Wrexham Inclusion Football Club Est 2011 We continue to make a massive difference to people's lives who have a dependency on the club, but sadly that's at the expense of volunteers own mental health, exhaustion with trying to balance work, life and volunteering 49 Plas Isaf, Rhosymedre, Wrexham LL14 3EW Registered Charity Number:1177896 Wrexham Inclusion Football Club Est 2011 ## **Secretary Comments** Every Wednesday we welcome plenty of people to our sessions, being the first point of contact for them and their families i deal with them and any issues they may have first hand, i see countless players each year and its a pleasure of seeing the difference the club makes to the players and their families the club as a whole is like a family and seeing everyones smile and excitement each week means so much to make and makes it all worthwhile. ## **Coach’s Comments** Over the last year the development session has had a good level of attendance. At the sessions a variety of players of age and ability is present, and the club have welcomed new players who have settled in well and enjoy being part of the club. The club haven’t had the opportunity to attend many competitions or tournaments but the players have really enjoyed training together and getting to know each other, not just the football. A number of players have grown in confidence in their football and socially in the session which has been brilliant to see. The players are really supportive and encourage each other regularly, this has been especially evident in the newer younger players that have joined. Instead of getting frustrated with players who might not be as good they encourage them which is what the session is about.
