Rhosymedre, Wrexham LL14 3EW Registered Charity Number:1177896 Wrexham Inclusion Football Club Est2011 These accounts are based on the period 2nd January 2020 to 1st January 2021. ## **Key Points Of 2020** - 2020 was a year of challenge worldwide due to the Covid-19 outbreak. This resulted in the club effectively only operating for 3 months of the year due to the safety of players, staff and the effects of government restrictions. - Shirt sponsorship was postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak - The Clubs Competition was fully occupied and planned to take place in June but was postponed until it is safe to resume. All team entry’s have confirmed there place and deposit remains with the club for the rescheduled event when it is safe to do so. - Running costs such as insurance, vehicle costs etc were absorbed from the clubs accounts due to zero income from the suspension of all activity - The club waited until it was safe to return before recommencing operations. The club had to take into account the vulnerable categories our club serves and their safety was out utmost priority, unfortunately due to the planning involved in our return, once recommenced, within 2 weeks all activity was suspended again due to the second wave. Our decision to delay resulted in a change of focus offering outdoor sessions, non contact with strict hygiene policies, updated risk assessments, and upskilling of our volunteer coaches. ## **Grants** The club continued its partnership with the club on the “We Wear The Same Shirt” project running mental health sessions on a weekly basis. unfortunately these were effected by the covid-19 pandemic, a total amount of £2250 was received in May (although agreed prior to the 49 Plas Isaf, Rhosymedre, Wrexham LL14 3EW Registered Charity Number:1177896 Wrexham Inclusion Football Club Est2011 pandemic) to be exchanged against costs including Hall Fee’s, Advertisement, Basic Overheads and administration. This balance so far remains at £1895.44 following deductions for Insurance (99.31), website running costs (£111.75) and Covid-19 adherence (£143.50) ## **2020 Roundup** ## _Volunteers_ Prior to Covid-19, the club still had 16 coaches on file who all choose to offer their services to us on a voluntary basis. During the Suspension of all football activities, regular meetings in the digital world were held with our volunteers to catch up, offer support and research on potential effects of our sessions. These were noted as a positive step by the trustee’s which made volunteers feel a continued part of the club and part of future planning. ## _Tournaments_ Our “home” tournament scheduled for june was suspended until it is safe to resume activities. All teams who paid a deposit to take part have transferred the deposit to the rescheduled date once announced. Wrexham inclusion football club welcomed visitors Northern Ireland street soccer to TNS on 28th february 2020 for a mini competition with several wrexham inclusion teams. After being welcomed so well in belfast during 2019, the club were honoured tin welcoming them to wales **WREXHAM INCLUSION VS NORTHERN IRELAND** ## _Covid-19 Adherence_ The club had to plan, adapt & upskill during 2020 when we attempted to resume operations. the club spent £143.50 in providing PPE, thermometers, sanitiser & cleaning products as well as reviewing and 49 Plas Isaf, Rhosymedre, Wrexham LL14 3EW Registered Charity Number:1177896 Wrexham Inclusion Football Club Est2011 adapting our risk assessments, implementing policies and training staff in the ability to deliver sessions in a safe and socially distanced manner ## **General Manager Comments** The year began like every year we previously had, the welcome back after the new year, the new campaigns to recruit service users, peer mentoring, and even took part in a friendly or two in February. The Year was looking as exciting as the last Covid-19 resulted in Instant closure of all activities, with our facilities at Plas Madoc Leisure Centre closing, this confirmed we were no longer safe to continue playing as covid spread the nation, and the world. We quickly reverted to online support and telecommunication. The Trustee’s met via video link on a regular basis assessing all government legislation and general wellbeing. Further communications followed with our volunteer coaches. To encourage support and wellbeing the club offered weekly Fifa football competitions online with regular updates on social media. Further to this the club also offered Quizzes and in house comedy nights Volunteers also offered Zoom peer mentoring session in addition to phone calls to catch up with people As a voluntary club it was difficult to offer anything more than this as the more influential members of the club worked full time and had family commitments A glimmer of hope returned in late september for 2 weeks, as we left it longer than every other club in the UK to start back up to protect our service users and ensure our risk assessments, policies and hygiene facilities were to the highest standard. Unfortunately this was instantly taken from us again due to further national lockdowns. We know we are missed and the players are missed by us too. When things can return so will we, but the safety of our users comes first and only when its safe to do so.
