Activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to our objectives are listed below - we aimed to do more public shows and open days compared with the previous year in order to reach a wider audience with our unique collection.

- October 2023 - We attended the local Vintage truck ‘Halloween run’ in our Scammell highwayman, an annual event which is organised by a fellow vintage truck collector and attended by many vintage truck enthusiasts.

- 30[th] April 2024 – We hosted an open evening for a local Young Farmers group who we were introduced to via a mutual acquaintance. The majority of the attendees were teenagers and we were confident that this helps towards our goal of reaching a variety of age groups, particularly younger people.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)**

- 9[th] June 2024 – Penistone Tractor club held their fundraising event at our premises. Attended by over 50 people and tractors, the funds raised via ticket sales went to our charity and will contribute towards maintenance and utilities etc.

- 22[nd] June 2024 – Attended a local tractor pulling event (Emley Moor MAST rally), we took our Scammell ballast tractor as a display item of interest as agreed with the organisers.

- 14[th] July 2024 – Hosted an open day for a group of classic car enthusiasts, attended again by over 50 vehicles and visitors.

- 9[th] /10[th] /11[th] August 2024 – Took part in the annual Yorkshire Wartime Experience at Cleckheaton, taking our Scammell tank transporter and Constructor. This event involves demonstrating the vehicles by driving them around the site as part of military display shows created by the organizers.

The aims of the charity remain the same – restore, display and demonstrate a range of vintage vehicles, agricultural machinery and associated equipment - to show the importance of heritage, and create an educational resource for all ages. As detailed above, we continue to attend local events and hold open days in the interest of displaying examples of historical vehicles to the public.

The trustees remain aware of their obligations for public benefit, as set out in guidance documents PB1, PB2 and PB3. Through attending shows and networking online we have also connected with other groups and organisations who have a shared interest – we hope to once again expand our numbers of museum visitors through liaising with these new contacts.

**Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)**

As with previous years, the trustees have been assisted by a small number of dedicated volunteers. These volunteers have been involved in both the relocation of vehicles and equipment - transporting them between sites via low loader trailers for example, and helping manoeuvre them in to the sheds upon arrival.

Some of our trusted volunteers have also been in attendance at some of our open days and accompanied us on our trips to various rallies and shows, as additional drivers – allowing us to take more vehicles of interest.

You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about:

- policy on grantmaking;

- policy programme related investment;

- contribution made by volunteers.

Section D                     Achievements and performance

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year**

Besides reaching a wider audience by hosting and getting involved in more events this year, one of our biggest achievements has been the utilisation of the new building after its final completion, finishing the external works in May 2024 (concrete and tarmac outside), allowing us access to it and putting it to use as it was intended, this new construction has allowed us to house more of our items and has left us with more space for visitors etc.

Lots of relocating has been completed during this period, we have implemented a new layout and have been able to reorganise each shed once the construction works were complete, with the hope of making the displays more accessible.

We hope to encourage more visitors in the future, through our social media and online connections. We have also made steps towards connecting with other, similar organisations and groups with a view to hosting them in the near future.

The drafting of the lease is near completion, it has been held up due to questions over boundaries and having to have various reports carried out in order to satisfy the criteria. We hope to have it complete and in place by the end of this year.

The insurance policies etc are all up to date and in place (including public liability insurance), and our financial position remains healthy.

## **Section E                    Financial review**

**Brief statement of the**

**charity’s policy on reserves**

The trustees are keen to generate any form of income possible for the charity, in order to secure the future of the collection. Our Brewin Dolphin fund remains our main form of reserve funds.

**Details of any funds materially in deficit**

## **Further financial review details (Optional information)**

You **may choose** to include additional information, where relevant about:

- the charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising);

- how expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity;

- investment policy and objectives including any ethical investment policy adopted.

We generally receive donations from visitors etc which help towards running costs.

We have also made the decision to sell a couple of items which we felt were not a benefit to the overall collection (one Albion concrete mixer, and one BMP tank) – the funds from these sales will go toward the upkeep and running costs of the overall operation.

Expenditure has been fairly high compared with what we predict in future years as invoices for the construction work etc have had to be paid during this period – for the benefit of the future of the collection.

## **Section F Other optional information**

This year our efforts have mainly focussed on both the reorganisation of the displays and vehicles, relocating items from their previous location to our own premises and trying to host more open days and attend more events - enabling the public to see more of our collection, after a steady previous year which was mainly on the completion of our new building. We have continued to maintain the administrative side of the operation alongside our efforts.

We hope these changes will enhance the visitor experience for the future, and the collection will provide a significant public benefit across a range of ages and interest groups for years to come.

## **Section G                    Declaration**
