Two major activities particularly characterised this year. In July 2022 a group of Grenfell Tower Fire survivors and others directly affected by the fire were brought down to Cornwall for a respite break. At this time, Cornwall Hugs was invited to meet with HRH Prince Charles and HRH Duchess of Cornwall in Mousehole to present the work of the charity and to introduce these guests, representing Grenfell United, with the specific purpose of speaking to them about their situation five years after the tragedy and the community’s ongoing need for support and justice. The charity also worked to offer support, both practical and emotional, to some of the Ukrainian refugees who had come to live in Cornwall. This included organising a communitybuilding excursion for 14 refugee families and their Cornish hosts as guests of Lord and Lady St Levan on St Michael’s Mount. laneous income, and incurred expendit-
ure of £6,971. Having begun the year
with reserves of £37,972 , it meant that
the charity ended the financial year with a
balance at the end of the financial year of
£31,921. The charity’s expenditure in-
cluded £5,163 on providing for its Grenfell
