105,656.67| |---|---| . ## **Immanuel Church Bodmin – Registered Charity Number 1177704** ## **Trustees Report – Year Ended 31 December 2024** Immanuel Church Bodmin has been able to build on the position established in 2023 to further expand our outreach activity in 2024, supporting both the local community as well as national and international Christian ministries in line with our charitable objectives. ## Income and Donations to Immanuel Church Bodmin The majority of our regular income in 2024 was received from collections and donations made by Church members. Alongside this, private donors provided the funds required to enable us to employ an Assistant Pastor from 1 September 2023 and increase our giving to particular overseas missionaries. ## Expenditure Our largest expenditure was salary and employment costs for our Pastor and Assistant Pastor. Our increased expenditure on utilities, insurance, repairs and maintenance reflects our growth, the upkeep demands of an ageing building and the worldwide increase in the cost of basic services during 2024. ## Supporting the Community in Bodmin and Cornwall In addition to a well-attended Sunday church meeting and Sunday Club for a growing number of children, we were able to expand our local and county activities in 2024 to provide both spiritual and practical support. A thriving baby and toddler group has been established run by church volunteers. We continued our Christianity Explored courses with individuals from the local community. Visit to a local retirement home to sing with the residents prove to be very encouraging. Our premises continued to be used to provide free storage and distribution for Foodbank. Our Foodbank Café, is an established and well-attended community facility, continuing to provide free refreshments, fellowship, help and support to Foodbank visitors. We maintained our support of Christians Against Poverty (CAP), both financially and by providing free office space for the CAP team for two days per week, with many residents of Bodmin and the wider area benefitting from their work. During 2024 our church hall has been available to a local GP run monthly pain clinic. Immanuel Church Bodmin continued to be actively involved in the Bodmin Youth Project, providing free use of our premises and serving the young people of Bodmin with activities, groups, socials and sports. Our Assistant Pastor now provides bible teaching to these young people. In addition, our Sunday youth evening continues to be a popular informal forum for bible teaching and support. Further community outreach activities were undertaken in 2024 to help achieve our charitable objectives, all run by Immanuel Church Bodmin volunteers, including trustees. These included an Easter family puzzle in a local park; involvement in running the Bush Christian Conference in Cornwall in May; helping to run Christian camps for young people 1 through the summer holidays, particularly the Menadue camps in Tintagel, a quiz and family event in November and Christmas community events including a women’s Christmas craft event and a community nativity from scratch including live animals. We also strengthened our connections with the Peninsula Gospel Partnership to support local church outreach across Devon and Cornwall. Our church leaders regularly preach in other churches in the region. Supporting Christian Mission in the UK and Worldwide Immanuel Church Bodmin continued its support of the work of Christian mission partners in the UK and overseas. ## Strengthening Immanuel Church Bodmin Policies and Procedures Work continued on ensuring that Immanuel Church Bodmin has the appropriate policies and procedures in place, including a review of safeguarding processes, provision of ongoing safeguarding training and providing opportunities for first aid training and food hygiene certification. ## Trustee Wider Activities As well as their governance responsibilities, the Trustees were actively involved in the day to day running of Immanuel Church Bodmin and its outreach initiatives in 2024. In addition, several Trustees continued their longstanding work with other compatible community focussed organisations such as the Farming Community Network, the Aquila Fellowship Trust, Good News for Everyone, Counties and Echoes International. ## Looking Ahead In response to a growing church membership and increasing community engagement.
