01 ABOUT

A little bit about our humble company

Ozer Umagen is a registered charity that was established in 2018 in response to a heartfelt call for help from the local community. Our mission is to provide essential support services to individuals facing crises of any sort, including physical and mental illness, food poverty, extreme financial difficulties, and disabilities. We are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need by offering personalized care packages and creating respite areas in local hospitals to ease the burden of patients and their caregivers.

At the core of our organization is the belief that every individual deserves dignity and care during challenging times. We understand that crises can strike unexpectedly, leaving people vulnerable and in urgent need of assistance.

PROGRAMS

Breakfast Packages:

Nourishing Individuals in Need

The program aims to provide essential food packages to financially vulnerable beneficiaries impacted by rising living costs. 600 packs will be delivered over 12 weeks, personalized through a preorder form, ensuring maximum benefit. Frequent surveys will ensure packages meet family needs, while disadvantaged youth will volunteer to support the project. The community-driven initiative operates on a voluntary basis, maximizing funding to help those in need.

Kits for Kids in Hospitals: Bringing Joy and Support

Ozer Umagen’s Kits for Kids initiative focuses on children in hospitals. These specially curated packages include food and entertainment items, bringing smiles to young faces and keeping them satiated and stimulated during their hospital stay. Generously funded by Awards for All, this program aims to provide not only essential items but also a sense of joy and support to children in their time of need.

06

Crisis Support: Alleviating Financial Hardships

In response to the cost of living crisis, Ozer Umagen has taken proactive steps to support individuals and families facing extreme financial difficulty. We provide free weekly packages filled with essential foods and dry goods, alleviating the effects of this crisis and ensuring that no family goes hungry. Our crisis support program addresses immediate needs and acts as a lifeline for those grappling with financial challenges.

Hospital Respite Rooms:

Recognizing the importance of creating a comforting environment for patients and their families, we have established respite rooms in 10 hospitals across London and beyond. These rooms are fully stocked with refreshments, reading material, and cultural necessities to ease the hospital experience. Thanks to a generous grant from the Screwfix Foundation, we are currently working on refurbishing our heavily used room in Southend Hospital, further enhancing the respite experience for patients and their loved ones.

07

Volunteer Opportunities: Unlocking Potential

At Ozer Umagen, inclusivity lies at the heart of our volunteer program. Through collaboration with local special needs organizations, we have formed a dedicated group of learning disabled individuals who meet weekly to prepare packages. This fosters skills development, social connections, confidence, and an improved quality of life. Our passionate volunteers actively participate in packaging and organizing essential items, playing a crucial role in the success of our programs. By providing meaningful opportunities and an inclusive platform for growth, we are making a difference, one package at a time.

Trips: Creating Memorable Experiences, Enriching Lives

At Ozer Umagen, we believe in providing extraordinary opportunities for individuals facing extreme disadvantage, coming from underprivileged backgrounds. Our volunteer trips and recreational activities are specifically designed to offer them experiences that go beyond their circumstances, opening doors to new horizons and creating lasting memories. These remarkable outings allow our volunteers to develop new skills, forge meaningful connections, and embrace the joy of exploration. We are committed to empowering these individuals and ensuring that they have the chance to thrive and create their own remarkable journeys.
