Christian Responsibility in Public Affairs Charity Registration Number 117763 (Communty Interest Company or CIO) Trustees Annual Report 1 July 2023 - 30 June 2024 Structure. governance and management The Charity is constituted as a CIO with a goveming documenL The Trustees during the period 1 July 2023 - 30 June 2024 were Lord Griffiths of Fforestfach, Lord Mccoll of Dulwich CBE MS FRCS FACS FRCSE, Mrs Anne DeIn, The Reverend John Lenton, The Rt Hon Ruth Kelly, Mr Stewart Newton FCA and Mr Philip Wood. The Trustees held regular meetings throughout the year to plan and discuss the range of activities as well as to meet for prayer and fellowship. The Trustees regularly evaluate the impact that the activities of the charity have on meeting ts objecttves and for benefit of public good. Objectives and activities CRPA was set up to support lay people holding positions of infiuence and responsibilty and to help them relate their faith to their work, to te MO infonned on topical subjects and to be better equipped to cary out their roles in public servi. Activities indude dinners. lectures. tslks, panels, cOnferenS and small group meetings that are organised with intemational speakets from business, finance, politics, educab'on. religion. arts and the media. Through CRPA people have been encouraged to be involved in responding to community needs, charitable ventures and educational inttiatives. CRPA is ecumenical and has no political affiliation. Achievements and perforniance Over the year, CRPA held regular meetings with over 1000 people attending drfferent events organised by the charity. Speakers have induded Govemment Minister5. Former Ministers, MP'S, Members of the House of Lords. CEO'S, Senior Civil SeNants, Fomier Chief of Stsff of the Amied Forces, Archbishops, broadcasters. joumalists, authors, psycho1j1sts, academics. doctors, entrepreneurs, politicians, Chief Executives of NGO'S, bankers, business and other professional people. The subjects of the talks have included 'The mental heatth cn&s amongst young people- what Gan be done? A weekend Consultation was held at st George's House, Windsor Casde where the subject was 'War, Conllict and PeaGemaknng' In December 2023 an Advent servi took pla yth Colonel Tom Archer-Burton speaking and over 420 people attended as well as many oUErs joining online.
Financial Review and Reserves policy All the Trustees are active in attending Trustee meetings and events organised by the CIO and participate in the planning of activities. The Trustees are common to this CIO and a Trust (Christian Responsibility in Public Affairs (International Christian Leadership) - Charty registration 253426). The Trustees have moved the operations, bank balances and other assets to this CIO from the Trust and will close the Trust as soon as possible. The combined operations of the fvio charities are known as CRPA. The Trustees regularly assess the financial position of CRPA. They monitor the expenditure and maintain a healthy balan of reserves.
