The past year has once again seen a full PfO8iamme of lectUTe5 and an annual
outin8. Membership numbers continue to be maintaSned around 2LKI, with a
turnover in rnember5hlp maSnly due to the age of our members thus necessf(atin8
¢onstant recrultment. The number of trustees has reduced with certain positions
currentEy unfilled although there are potential candidates for ¢ertain positions.
The Research Group Continues to expand number5 and has collaborated wlth
English Heritage to provide information to assist them in creating new si8nage for
Hurst Castle. Whllst this ha5 now been cornpleted. research will conttnue with an
alm to provlde addltlonal perlodlc additlonal exhlbliion5 at the castle on ttems not
currentty covered within the new si8nage. We alm to produce an Occasional
Magazine based upon our researche5.

articles from the Researih Library and of Local History Trails are averaging
over 8CD per month. Monitoring of all our resÈarth too15 SUPPOrts a

position at the end of the
period

Our financial p05ttion exiting 2024 continue5 to remain strong although sadty our
membership nurnbers have fallen Slightly. Our main source of income is the
membership subscription and the gift ald we are able to claim on that. If numbers
continue to fall. we may have to increase the membership subsuiption In the
fvture. For 2025. though, It remains at £10 per petson.
The summer outing was well attended and again rnore than covered rts costs. Our
printing tosts have corne down as most information is now passed by email or via
our website and we didn't produce art occasional magazine this financial year.
Our otheroperational costs, for example the hall hire. lectures, archive stgrage and
insuran￿. continue to rise with inflation but fortunately our total intome exceeds
the all the unavoidable costs.
WÈ also have over £12.￿)0 in a saving5 account which we can use to fund future
rants or projects that will create even more local history for our enjoymentl Attht5
time. though, we have no ongoing projects. 80th the Cornwalli5 and Local History
Llves Projects have completed, and the resldual funds passed back to the 8eneral
fund, recognising that MOSHRS takes on some liabilities in the future such as
continuing to pay for the website.
