During the year the sub-committee charged with exploring search has continued to explore potential future arrangements for the Museum in the wake of plans to close the Barracks by 2030 examined a number of external options, but with little success to date.
Concurrent with the search to secure the future of the Collection was a search to find replacements for the current curatorial staff who have planned a stepped retirement due to age and health issues. This search has been more successful and the handover of responsibilities from the current Curator to the Curator-elect has continued throughout the year.
The Museum also finalised preparations for its contribution to the 80[th] anniversary of the Battle of Kohima in 2024 and has participated in several displays and presentations.
The revitalisation of the museum website and opening of an Instagram account together with other Social Media platforms has resulted in a clearly visible rise in visitor numbers both footfall and electronic. This has in turn, resulted in an increase in revenue due to personal donations by visitors.
