BRIDLINGTON LIONS CLUB (CIO) We ve 'stered Charf 1177461 Trustees Annual Re ort 202>2024 Throughout the year the Club has maSntalned its commitment to the motto of Lions Clubs Internatlonal of 'We Serve, by fundralslng Within the local community and distributin8 these fund5 mainly to local individuals, clubs and other organisations, and to fulfll its wider obli8ations. During the year, the club held Its annual Carnival as well as contlnuing other money raisln8 activities suth as the Soft Toy tombola, Car boot sales, Santa dash, Christmas activities and its Charity bookshop. Durin8 the year, the club also clalmed Glft Ald on donations successfully achlevln8 more money for distribution. Service efforts forthe community included beach cleans. delivering food parcels to needy households, contributing to Humberside Police Lifestyle, collecting children's books for Sri Lanka and several other local needs whlch included plantin8tree saplings. One main event wa5 holding a Diabetes awareness day In the local shopping centre and thls was supported by local health groups and optlcians. We contlnued to support both nationa5 and international projects which all Lions Clubs are Involved wlth coverlng disasters around the world as well as sending special donations to natlonal appeals. We sent donations to help the people of Ukralne to help fund generators and wood burning stoves. We also sent donatlon to support extensions at Martin House children's hospice which was match funded by our local District. However, much of our fundralsln8 helps us to respond to local appeals through our grant application procedures. We have contributed to the provtsion of hay for the local Ridin8 for the Disabled ponies, funding for transport costs for a local youn8 squash player to attend training sessions at national centres, Improved facilities at Raywell, the local 5COUt and gulde centre. a large donation to Yorkshire Air Ambulance in support of a bereaved club colleague, equipment for East Coast majorettes. support for local rural transport and several other clubs and local or8anisations. Twlce a month, regular club meetings were held and the decisions taken on makin8 grants were based on a dose scrutiny of applications and discussion. Each meeting has had a quorum of trustees present. As a voluntary organisatlon, we strive to 8ain new Members and make every effort to attract suitable people. We advertise regularly on our Facebook page and on our website and leaflets are available in the bookshop. We have gained two new members during the yearwith several others showing interest. We currently have a group of actlve members in the dub who are dedicated to continuin8 our charitable work Into the coming year. K.L.
