|Summary of the main<br>activities in relation to those<br>purposes for the public<br>benefit, in particular, the<br>activities, projects or<br>services identified in the<br>accounts.|Para 1.17 and<br>1.19|During 2023 SusCha were involved in many<br>community projects and granted over £42k of funds.<br>Here is a summary of the funding made by SusCha:<br>**Community Buildings - Energy Efficiency**<br>●<br>SusCha continued to support**Charlbury**<br>**Bowls Club**on their journey towards making<br>their clubhouse a net-zero carbon building.<br>Grants were made to fund energy efficient<br>windows, doors, appliances and a cycle rack.<br>(£7,033)<br>●<br>Insulation upgrade of the**Charlbury**<br>**Community Workshop**(£2788)<br>●<br>Assessment and Whole Building Plan for the<br>**Corner House.** This was as initial step in<br>the project to retrofit this community building<br>(£1104)<br>●<br>Building improvements of**Charlbury**<br>**Preschool** - insulation, double glazing and<br>LED lighting (£8017)<br>**Education**<br>●<br>Wildlife and ecology programme at**Chipping**<br>**Norton School**(£880)|

|||●<br>Pollinator workshop at**Charlbury Primary**<br>**School**(£1713)<br>**Community Engagement**<br>●<br>Pilot performance costs for 'Nor any drop to<br>drink' by Waywood Song (£2000)<br>**Land & Nature / Biodiversity**<br>●<br>**Mill Field**wild meadow restoration (to be<br>paid over 2/3 years, this year £980)<br>●<br>Replacement equipment for**Oxford**<br>**Conservation Volunteers**(£1000)<br>**Home Comforts Project**<br>In 2022 we received a grant of £21,000 from the<br>Evenlode Foundation to fund the “Home Comforts<br>Project”. During 2023 this project was led by the<br>town councils’ Buildings Working Group and<br>surveyed a range of typical houses in the town, to<br>give a holistic view of what is required to retrofit the<br>whole town. £16,490 of funds were granted to fund<br>this, with the balance of £4510 reserved to complete<br>the project in 2024..<br>**Book**<br>We have continued to promote and sell our book<br>“Power to the People - The Story of Southill Solar”,<br>which we self-published in 2022. This tells the story<br>of how our small town in the Cotswolds came<br>together to create a community-owned and<br>controlled solar farm.<br>We made sales of £145 in 2023, and will continue to<br>sell the remaining stock in 2024 to recoup some of<br>the costs.|

|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|The following projects were supported, by the award<br>of funding:<br>●<br>Charlbury Bowls Club, helping to make the<br>building carbon-neutral.<br>●<br>Charlbury Primary School, to run a nature and<br>sustainability programme.<br>●<br>Finstock for Nature, to establish a community<br>orchard.<br>SusCha worked with stakeholders from the following<br>community buildings to make more energy efficient<br>and support their path to net-zero:<br>●<br>Charlbury Bowls Club<br>●<br>Charlbury Community Workshop<br>●<br>Corner House<br>●<br>Charlbury Preschool<br>Education Programmes were funded at Chipping<br>Norton School and Charlbury Primary School, both<br>promoting ecology and biodiversity.<br>SusCha funded a pilot performance of 'Nor any drop<br>to drink' by Waywood Song<br>SusCha gave financial support to Oxford<br>Conservation Volunteers to purchase new equipment,<br>to help them with theirpractical work.<br>Partnering with the Town Council SusCha<br>committed to a 3 year programme to fund wild<br>meadow restoration of the Mill Field.<br>SusCha also supported the Town Council with the<br>Home Comforts Project. This gave a holistic view of<br>what is required to retrofit the whole town.|
