to promote the advancement of environmental
protection or improvement for the benefit of the
public in particular but not exclusively, within 25
miles of Charlbury OX7 3EW, by promoting the
deployment of sustainable energy, promoting
education in climate change, reducing energy
demand and carbon emissions and making grants to
such organisations as the Trustees shall see fit in
order to promote and encourage the development of

**Community Buildings - Energy Efficiency**

SusCha continued to support**Charlbury**
**Bowls Club**on their journey towards making
their clubhouse a net-zero carbon building.
Grants were made to fund energy efficient
windows, doors, appliances and a cycle rack.

**Corner House.** This was as initial step in
the project to retrofit this community building

**Home Comforts Project**
In 2022 we received a grant of £21,000 from the
Evenlode Foundation to fund the “Home Comforts
Project”. During 2023 this project was led by the
town councils’ Buildings Working Group and
surveyed a range of typical houses in the town, to
give a holistic view of what is required to retrofit the
whole town. £16,490 of funds were granted to fund
this, with the balance of £4510 reserved to complete
the project in 2024..
**Book**
We have continued to promote and sell our book
“Power to the People - The Story of Southill Solar”,
which we self-published in 2022. This tells the story
of how our small town in the Cotswolds came
together to create a community-owned and
controlled solar farm.
We made sales of £145 in 2023, and will continue to
sell the remaining stock in 2024 to recoup some of

SusCha funded a pilot performance of 'Nor any drop
to drink' by Waywood Song
SusCha gave financial support to Oxford
Conservation Volunteers to purchase new equipment,
to help them with theirpractical work.
Partnering with the Town Council SusCha
committed to a 3 year programme to fund wild
meadow restoration of the Mill Field.
SusCha also supported the Town Council with the
Home Comforts Project. This gave a holistic view of
