|Summary of the main<br>activities in relation to those<br>purposes for the public<br>benefit, in particular, the<br>activities, projects or<br>services identified in the<br>accounts.|Para 1.17 and<br>1.19|Following limited activity in 2020 and 2021 due to<br>the covid pandemic we were able to re-engage and<br>undertake the following activities during 2023:<br>**Grants**<br>We awarded Finstock for Nature a grant of £460 as<br>seed-corn funding to undertake a wide-ranging<br>consultation with the local community in<br>collaboration with the Parish Council, to design and<br>implement a community orchard in the parish field, a<br>wildflower verge along the High St and a small flood<br>mitigation scheme.<br>Charlbury Bowls Club are a not-for-profit Community<br>Amateur Sports Club, who were seeking to make<br>some improvements to the club house aiming<br>towards a net-zero carbon building. Sustainable<br>Charlbury supported the Club with grants totalling<br>£7,455 which funded an initial report and survey and<br>contributions towards improvements to low-energy<br>lighting and insulation.<br>We continued to support Charlbury Primary School<br>with a grant of £5,600 to fund an advisor within the<br>school to facilitate and drive the Learning for<br>Sustainability programme. We also granted £2,240<br>for a nature survey/programme for Wychwood<br>Paddocks (the school playing field).<br>The school|

|||also has a large energy use, which we are helping<br>them to reduce, an initial £280 has been granted for<br>a thermal Imaging report to help prioritise<br>improvements.<br>**Book**<br>We invested £3,736 in the design and print of 500<br>books entitled “Power to the People - The Story of<br>Southill Solar”, this tells the story of how our small<br>town in the Cotswolds came together to create a<br>community-owned and controlled solar farm.<br>The book was written by our trustee Mark Gregory,<br>primarily based on information from Tim Crisp and<br>Liz Reason, founders of the project. The 64-page<br>colour booklet sets out information about the project<br>and explains how and why the solar farm came to<br>be built as an exciting community enterprise.<br>The purpose of the book is to document for record,<br>and also to inspire and share information to other<br>communities to help them do the same.<br>So far profits from book sales amount to £138. We<br>will continue to sell to recoup some of the costs.<br>**Administration**<br>We spent £60 on fees associated with running our<br>website<br>**Home Comforts Project**<br>We received a grant of £21,000 from the Evenlode<br>Foundation to fund the “Home Comforts Project”.<br>This project will be led by the town councils’<br>Buildings Working Group and will survey a range of<br>typical houses in the town, to give a holistic view of<br>what is required to retrofit the whole town. Spending<br>on this project will commence in 2023.|
