ANNUAL REPORT FOR 2024

  1. Income . No single donations were received this year, but we continue to appreciate greatly a most generous standing order.

  2. Expenditure . In effect, a double payment this year, as nothing was disbursed in 2023. This was towards work by organ builders, Peter Wood Ltd of Harrogate, for a replacement blower for the church organ.

  3. Investment . We bought a further 150.07 shares in the Church of England Central Board of Finance Investment Fund (Income Shares), for £3,500, on 28[th] October. At the end of the year, we held 1,860.46 shares in this fund. At £23 a share, this gave a market value at the end of the year of around £42,750.

  4. Our holding in the Church of England Central Board of Finance Global Equity

  5. Fund (Income Shares) remains at 3,257.22 shares – at £3.25 a share, this gave a market value of around £10,500.

  6. An AGM was held on 21[st] February; with a further trustees meeting on 17[th] October.

  7. Trustees. The existing trustees, Mrs Glenys Taylor, Mr David Nelson and Mr Toby Stephenson are all happy to continue; and were joined at the AGM by a prospective trustee from the community.

  8. Accounting. The accounts show a figure for ‘Ordinary Income’. This includes any payments made to or on behalf of St Peter’s; as well as any costs or other payments made by the trust (of which there were none).

  9. We also made a further payment of £3,500. But as this was for further shares,

  10. which we anticipate will increase the dividends we receive in future years, it is not exactly expenditure in the same as the ‘Ordinary Income’, which is of course lost (to the trust) for ever.
