We achieve this by diligently organizing a diverse range of activities and extending invitations to the public. ## Our primary objectives include: 1. Spreading the Gospel: We are dedicated to promoting the teachings of Jesus Christ to individuals from all walks of life, inspiring them to embrace faith and a personal relationship with God. 2. Worship Services: We facilitate regular worship services that provide a sacred space for believers to come together, express their devotion, and experience spiritual growth through prayer, worship, and studying the Scriptures. 3. Community Engagement: We actively engage with our local community through various initiatives, events, and outreach programs, aiming to address pressing needs, offer support, and offer opportunity for rehabilitation and mentoring to those in need. 4. Inclusive Gathering: Our efforts extend beyond the church walls as we strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, regardless of their background or status. To fulfil these objectives, we organize a wide array of regular activities, embracing different formats, such as prayer meetings, Bible studies, fellowship groups, youth gatherings, and community service projects. In addition, we actively invite and encourage the public to join us in our worship services and other events, extending a warm invitation to experience the transformative power of the gospel firsthand. ## ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE Over the past year, our organization has achieved significant milestones and made notable progress. One of the most significant accomplishments was successfully relocating to a new facility that presents better opportunities for our organization. Despite the initial challenges of the property being occupied by squatters, we negotiated a rent rebate and undertook the necessary remedial works to make it suitable for our church's needs. While this project proved to be costly as reflected in our financial records, we are pleased with the outcome as it eliminates the need for further refurbishment in the foreseeable future. We are delighted to share that the vendors also presented us with an enticing opportunity to purchase the property at an agreed price. Currently, we are actively engaged in liaising with banks and diligently raising the required deposit as stipulated by the proposed mortgage bank. Our aim is to finalize the purchase process by March 2024. 3 ## POTTERS HOUSE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP UK SURREY CHURCH ## REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES For the Year Ended 31 March 2024 Our community outreach efforts have been fruitful throughout the year. Locally, we have witnessed a positive response from the public, and our mentoring and rehabilitation programs have yielded grateful testimonies from numerous young men whose lives we have impacted. Additionally, we expanded our outreach beyond our immediate area by sending teams on a monthly basis to support other churches in need. We even had the privilege of sending teams internationally to Portugal, Switzerland, and Cyprus, spreading our mission to a global audience. Looking ahead to the coming year, we are excited about the prospect of fully acquiring our current building, solidifying our presence and creating a permanent home for our community. This achievement will undoubtedly pave the way for further growth and enable us to serve and impact more lives in the future. ## PLANS FOR THE FUTURE As we settling into our new facility, an atmosphere of possibilities and vision is very evident in the congregation. People are filled with visions of what we can do to reach our community and beyond now we have a much larger facility without the restrictions we had in our previous building. We are planning events such as themed drama nights, Halloween drama, youth rally etc. ## STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT ## Governing Document The charity was registered on 1 March 2018 as a CIO and it’s controlled by it’s governing document (constitution). ## Trustees The trustees namely; Pastor Success Adeshida (chairman), Sylvester Narh and Juvencio Da-Silva have served throughout the year. Appointment of trustees is governed by the Constitution of the Charity. The Board of Trustees is authorised to appoint new trustees to fill vacancies through resignation or death of an existing trustee. ## FINANCIAL REVIEW 1. The trustees have agreed that such application will be made this year. ## Reserves policy The Charities restricted funds held in reserve for any unforeseen circumstances are adequate. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently; observe the methods and principles in the Charity SORP; make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent; state whether applicable accounting standards have been followed, subject to any material departures disclosed and explained in the financial statements; prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in business. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with the Charities Act 2011, the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the trust deed. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act)) and that an independent examination is required. The charity's gross income was around £730,000 and I am qualified to undertake the examination by being a qualified member of CIMA. Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company law and is eligible for independent examination, it is my responsibility to: - examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act - to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission (under Section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act) and - to state whether particular matters have come to my attention ## Basis of independent examiner's report My examination was carried out in accordance with the general directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The members have not required the charitable company to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2024 in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006. The trustees acknowledge their responsibilities for:- - (a) ensuring that the charitable company keeps accounting records that comply with Sections 386 and 387 of the Companies Act 2006 and - (b) preparing financial statements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charitable company as at the end of each financial year and of its surplus or deficit for each financial year in accordance with the requirements of Sections 394 and 395 and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 relating to financial statements, so far as applicable to the charitable company. These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the special provisions of part 15 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small charitable companies and with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008). The financial statements were approved by the Board of Trustees on 10th July 2024 and were signed on its behalf by:- Trustee Pastor Success Adeshida 11 Compa ny No: CE013415 ## POTTERS HOUSE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP UK SURREY CHURCH ## DETAILED STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 March 2024 ## 1 ACCOUNTING POLICIES ## Accounting Convention The financial Statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, and in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective April 2008), the Companies Act 2006 and the requirements of the Statement of Recommended Practice, Accounting and Reporting by Charities ## Incoming resources All incoming resources are included on the statement of Financial Activities when the charity is legally entitled to the income and the amount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. ## Resources Expended Expenditure is accounted for on an accrual basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate all cost related to that category. Where costs cannot be directly attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources ## Tangible Fixed Assets Depreciation is provided at the following annual rates in order to write off each asset over its estimated useful life. 25% Reducing Balance ## Taxation The charity is exempt from corporation tax on it's charitable activities ## Fund Accounting Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees Restricted funds can only be used for particular restricted purposes within the object of the charity. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.
