## **The Mary Sunley Canal Boat Trust Report of the Trustees for the year 2022** Once again it is my pleasure to present the Trustees report for the year to 31st December 2022. After the disruption over the last 2 years caused by the Covid pandemic it was with relief that we were able to get back to some sort of normality, although we still had a number of trips cancelled due to infections in some homes. During the year we did a total of 139 trips of which over 50 were for Care Homes, about 47 for groups ie stroke society, dementia groups etcetera. with the rest being private parties. Although the total number of trips is still down on pre covid levels, we are still encouraged to see how most of our long standing customers have come back to enjoy their days on the water, and it was particularly useful that the weather was so good. Although we have had small technical issues with the boat, these are to be expected due to its age, and we are realising how important it is to carry out regular preventative maintenance to ensure the reliability of the Mary Sunley. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we did not think it was appropriate to have our customary social events, but were pleased to meet at the Beijing again in January. Hopefully this is the start, and we will be able to meet again before too long. I extend sincere thanks to my fellow Trustees and committee members for their commitment and enthusiastic support. All make a real contribution to the success of the trust. And finally, a big thank you to all our splendid volunteers for your commitment, enthusiasm, and humour. Thank you.
