Culcheth Village Choir AGM

Good evening and welcome to our fourth AGM.

Let me introduce our trustees who are the committee of Culcheth Village Choir.

• Phil Hylton Vice Chairperson • Anne Skinner Secretary • Val Lewis Treasurer • Veronica Hyland Librarian • Julia Nellist Events Coordinator • Carl Agnew IT and Social Media

We’ve suffered substantially with the pandemic but we hope to commence singing again as soon as restrictions are lifted.

For those of you here that are unaware of our status, we are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. We registered with the Charities commission on the 26th of February 2018 and our mission, if you will, is to spread the word about music and choir participation.

The Trustees, who are volunteers, are elected to their respective roles and serve a fixed period that ranges from 1 year to 3 years.

This year 2 of the trustees were due to step down. I have a statement at the end of this report to clarify this situation.

What are our objectives .

Our statement to the commission is as follows:

Management of the Choir

The committee has met 4 times during the period to discuss the calendar of events, membership, fundraising and other matters relating to the smooth running of the choir. I would like to thank each of you for your tireless efforts and commitment to the smooth running of our choir.

Summary of the main activities

No activity during this period.

Future Events

Watch this space…………………………. Pssst, there is a vaccine on the horizon.

Accounts

Val Lewis will present the accounts for this period.

Membership

In 2017 when we started the new choir with Paul, we had 35 active members. We are hovering around 46 members, which is wonderful. We will continue to spread the word and encourage new members when we get together again.

Election of new Trustees

Anne Skinner and Julia Nellist were due to step down this year at the end of their term. However, due to the situation and in an effort to maintain continuity, I have asked if they would please stay on for another year. I hope this meets with your approval.

New Venue

We will re commence our singing at the Village Club on Wigshaw Lane.
