The trustees have pleasure in presenting their Annual Report together with the Receipts and Payments Account, and the Statement of Assets and Liabilities of the charity for the year ended 31 January 2024. The accounts have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis and comply with the charity's governing document and the Charities Act 2011.

## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT**
The charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Foundation model) (CIO) and was registered with the Charity Commission on 23 February 2018.
The constitution allows for a maximum of twelve trustees. At the financial year end there were six trustees in post. Trustee posts are filled either at the AGM or occasionally, as required when the needs occur. The Trustees will invite new members to fill skills and knowledge gaps in accordance with the Constitution.
The administration of the charity is carried out by Dee Furman with assistance from volunteers and the trustees as required.
We are fortunate to have trustees with management, education, administration and safeguarding expertise, but we continue to take outside legal, accounting and human resource advice when needed.
## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES**
Aceactive Ministry is a Christian educational charity whose aims are: -
- To advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in accordance with the statements of belief appearing in the Bible.
- The advancement of the Christian faith mainly, but not exclusively, by means of broadcasting messages of an evangelistic and teaching nature.
The trustees believe they have complied with the duty in Section 17 of the 2011 Charities Act to have due regard to guidance published by the Charity Commission in respect of public benefit.
Volunteers play a significant role in delivering the objectives and activities of the charity. These have assisted on missions as described below. In addition, members volunteer to organise and assist at many of the activities listed below.
## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE**
## **Trustees**
“Our Lord has been able to do exceedingly more than we could ever have hoped or imagined” (Ephesians 3v20)
When Ace Active was initially formed, over eight years ago, it was not entirely clear where all of this might lead into the future. Warren became involved with helping Alpha courses, especially around the north of England, visiting primary schools, as a Gladiator, and joining Rev Roger Simpson on a number church missions. Roger has been a great mentor and the synergy between them has been evident for all to see.
We had little finance available but a longstanding anonymous donor became an answer to prayer. Margaret and I previously had searched through a number of charities and made applications to a few, but without any success. The charity is prudent with its spending and has been encouraged by the support of churches visited, many of whom have made contributions towards its ministry.

When the charity was formed our hope and imagination and faith never supposed that we would be where we are today. Warren has worked with a large number of well-known church leaders and evangelists. He has appeared on television and radio frequently. He has moved forward in faith, unsure what might happen, but trusting in his Lord. His great skills as a communicator together with his gripping testimony has helped to change many lives; but as we all know only Jesus can do this. Ace Active has been active overseas in Brazil and South Africa with its mission of introducing and encouraging others to follow Jesus Christ and to give their lives to him.
I first met Warren through Boltonians, a men’s group that I lead each week, which was initially at the home of the businessman, Julian Richer. It was here that Warren first encountered real Christianity. From this he was encouraged to join an Alpha course and it is there that both Warren and Dee gave their lives to follow Christ. It was there that the Holy Spirit changed their lives forever.
I have been privileged to be the Chairman of the Trustees for the past seven years. As I stand down I will retain my support as a Trustee and can assure both Warren and Dee of my prayers and support in their ongoing ministry. Of course they are now both titled (Reverends). Completing the ordination training I believe has had a positive and helpful effect on their lives and ministry.
I am grateful to all the trustees, past and present. May our Lord continue to bless this work as it moves ahead and to bless their family also. Life, as we all know it, will not always be easy but we have a faithful God who has plans for us all.
## **Prayer and Prayer Gladiators**
A most important aspect of this work has been that of Prayer Gladiators. We have all been encouraged and blessed by the large number of people who regularly pray for this work over its entire lifetime. This is an online group that has occasionally met live but due to geography this has been limited.
## **Ordination**
For much of the past year Warren and Dee’s time has been occupied by completing the ordination course and this has at times been intensive recognising that returning to study in this way requires much determination. In addition to this, there have been calls upon their time to lead church services and to preach sermons in local churches. The training, provided by the college, is by its nature very practical as well as theological and this has been in our prayers as being important since the charity was formed.
## **Activities**
Alongside the demanding schedule of ordination training, Warren and Dee have engaged in a busy schedule of local and regional mission activities. In particular, a prisons ministry and speaking at evangelistic men’s events have become increasingly important.

## **FINANCIAL REVIEW**
We are grateful for the regular support of a small but committed group of donors who, together with ad-hoc donations from mission partners, have more than met the financial needs of the charity. Regular donations during the year ranged from £10 per month to £4,400 per month.
Total receipts for the year amounted £49,549 and total payments amounted to £50,945 which resulted in a small deficit of £1,396. The top four categories of payments were:

All money raised for the charity is used to provide the activities and for administrative costs. We do not invest money but keep our reserves in a bank savings account, moving money between the current account and the savings account to maximise return on our funds, while ensuring the smooth running of the charity.
## **POLICY ON RESERVES**
The charity’s main item of regular committed expenditure is the salary of its sole employee. Average monthly expenditure, including exceptional items, over the period of this report was £4,245.
Maintaining reserves to cover three months of normal expenditure is deemed appropriate and during the period, we have exceeded this level throughout the year.
## **PLANS FOR THE FUTURE**
The ministry has an exciting future, and we can see new developments emerging. The growing relationship with the Holy Trinity Brompton network has led to Warren and Dee studying on the Peter stream at St. Miletus college while also being engaged in the life of the church on Sundays. We are grateful for the training and support being so generously provided by Holy Trinity Brompton.
Face-to-face events are again becoming more common, and we look forward to these opportunities continuing to grow.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Aceactive Ministry (“the charity”) for the year ended 31 January 2024.
This report is made solely to the charity’s trustees, as a body, in accordance with section 154 of the Charities Act 2011. My independent examiner’s work has been undertaken so that I might state to the charity’s trustees those matters I am required to state to them in an independent examiner’s report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the charity’s trustees as a body for my independent examiner’s work, for this report, or for the opinions I have formed.
## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner’s statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
