The trustees have pleasure in presenting their Annual Report together with the Receipts and Payments Account, and the Statement of Assets and Liabilities of the charity for the year ended 31 January 2023. The accounts have been prepared on the receipts and payments basis and comply with the charity's governing document and the Charities Act 2011.

## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT**
The charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Foundation model) (CIO) and was registered with the Charity Commission on 23 February 2018.
The constitution allows for a maximum of twelve trustees. At the financial year end there were six trustees in post. Trustee posts are filled either at the AGM or occasionally, as required when the needs occur. The Trustees will invite new members to fill skills and knowledge gaps in accordance with the Constitution.
The administration of the charity is carried out by Dee Furman with assistance from volunteers and the trustees as required.
We are fortunate to have trustees with management, education, administration and safeguarding expertise, but we continue to take outside legal, accounting and human resource advice when needed.
## **OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES**
Aceactive Ministry is a Christian educational charity whose aims are: -
- To advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in accordance with the statements of belief appearing in the Bible.
- The advancement of the Christian faith mainly, but not exclusively, by means of broadcasting messages of an evangelistic and teaching nature.
The trustees believe they have complied with the duty in Section 17 of the 2011 Charities Act to have due regard to guidance published by the Charity Commission in respect of public benefit.
Volunteers play a significant role in delivering the objectives and activities of the charity. These have assisted on missions as described below. In addition, members volunteer to organise and assist at many of the activities listed below.
## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE**
## **Trustees**
This is my sixth year as a Trustee of ACE Active Ministry and for most of this time I have been in the position of chairman. Our rules state that Trustees should serve for a maximum of two three-year terms plus a further year. That being said, over this period it has gone through unusual times, especially the period of Covid when much of the ministry was curtailed, albeit a number of important activities via Zoom. Also during this time both Warren and Dee felt called to ministry in the Anglican church concluding with their ordination in mid-2024. This has resulted in ordination training at St Miletus College in London which necessitated relocation. This has been both a challenging and encouraging time for them, with the sound training equipping them for their future roles and activities.
In the past year, two of the Trustees, Kevin Fieldhouse and Bruce Hare have both resigned for personal reasons. We remain very grateful for the contributions that Kevin and Bruce have made to the running of this charity.

## **Prayer and Prayer Gladiators**
The WhatsApp prayer group continues to be very effective and we are grateful for the invaluable support that they provide. This is both encouraging and essential. The ministry is much to do with prayer and our Lord’s blessing on this work that will help it to thrive. We have been remiss at times in not meeting sufficiently often to pray and to seek God’s guidance for the many years that lie ahead. However, we have been able to assure both Warren and Dee that through our own personal prayers on a daily basis.
## **Ordination**
For much of the past year Warren and Dee’s time has been occupied by completing the ordination course and this has at times been intensive recognising that returning to study in this way requires much determination. In addition to this, there have been calls upon their time to lead church services and to preach sermons in local churches. The training, provided by the college, is by its nature very practical as well as theological and this has been in our prayers as being important since the charity was formed.
## **Activities**
Due to ordination training, the activities of Ace Active have necessity needed to be curtailed. Some, otherwise, important missions have had to be cancelled due to time constraints. The focus of the ministry has been linked with activities associated with the course and HTB. They have been involved in the Alpha leadership conference at the Royal Albert Hall, speaking engagements on UCB radio, some work in schools and prisons and amongst young people through SPEAR. Warren was interviewed by Canon J John in his series, “Facing the Canon”. These have been very valuable experiences.
They have also played an important part in the annual Focus event of HTB and its many church plants which have involved 1,000s of people.
They have become active members of a local church in Dalgarno Way in London. They have built up good relationships and contributed considerably to the church life there in a variety of different ways.
## **Focus**
For us as Trustees It remains essential that the focus of this ministry is not distracted into other worthwhile causes and activities. The core of the ministry remains as evangelism. To use the words of St Paul (I Corinthians 9v16), “ _Yes, woe is me if do not preach the Gospel!_ The world in which we live is a very needy place and we know that people’s lives are transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ both for themselves and for the glory of God.

## **FINANCIAL REVIEW**
We are grateful for the regular support of a small but committed group of donors who, together with ad-hoc donations from mission partners, have more than met the financial needs of the charity. Regular donations during the year ranged from £10 per month to £4,497 per month.
Total receipts for the year amounted £68,806 and total payments amounted to £49,133 which resulted in an excess of receipts over payments (surplus) of £19,673. The top four categories of payments were:
1. Payroll costs £33,098 2. Travel and subsistence £4,462 3. Motor vehicle and running expenses £4,181 4. Sundry expenses £2,238
All money raised for the charity is used to provide the activities and for administrative costs. We do not invest money but keep our reserves in a bank savings account, moving money between the current account and the savings account to maximise return on our funds, while ensuring the smooth running of the charity.
## **POLICY ON RESERVES**
The charity’s main item of regular committed expenditure is the salary of its sole employee. Average monthly expenditure, including exceptional items, over the period of this report was £4,094.
Maintaining reserves to cover three months of normal expenditure is deemed appropriate and during the period, we have exceeded this level throughout the year.
## **PLANS FOR THE FUTURE**
The ministry has an exciting future, and we can see new developments emerging. The growing relationship with Holy Trinity Brompton has led to Warren and Dee studying on the Peter stream at St. Miletus college while also being engaged in the life of the church on Sundays. We are grateful for the training and support being so generously provided by Holy Trinity Brompton.
Face-to-face events are again becoming more common, and we look forward to these opportunities continuing to grow.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Aceactive Ministry (“the charity”) for the year ended 31 January 2023.
This report is made solely to the charity’s trustees, as a body, in accordance with section 154 of the Charities Act 2011. My independent examiner’s work has been undertaken so that I might state to the charity’s trustees those matters I am required to state to them in an independent examiner’s report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the charity and the charity’s trustees as a body for my independent examiner’s work, for this report, or for the opinions I have formed.
## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner’s statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Act; or
2. the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
