STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The charity is constituted as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Foundation model) (CIO) and was registered with the Charity Commission on 23 February 2018.
The constitution allows for a maximum of twelve trustees. At the financial year end there were six trustees in post. Trustee posts are filled either at the AGM or occasionally, as required when the needs occur. The Trustees will invite new members to fill skills and knowledge gaps in accordance with the Constitution.
The administration of the charity is carried out by Dee Furman with assistance from volunteers and the trustees as required.
We are fortunate to have trustees with management, education, administration and safeguarding expertise, but we continue to take outside legal, accounting and human resource advice when needed.
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Aceactive Ministry is a Christian educational charity whose aims are: -
-
To advance the Christian faith for the benefit of the public in accordance with the statements of belief appearing in the Bible.
-
The advancement of the Christian faith mainly, but not exclusively, by means of broadcasting messages of an evangelistic and teaching nature.
The trustees believe they have complied with the duty in Section 17 of the 2011 Charities Act to have due regard to guidance published by the Charity Commission in respect of public benefit.
Volunteers play a significant role in delivering the objectives and activities of the charity. These have assisted on missions as described below. In addition, members volunteer to organise and assist at many of the activities listed below.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE
Activities
The Covid lockdown has continued to restrict the Charity’s’ activities in so many different ways, but it has also provided other opportunities elsewhere. During the past year both Warren and Dee have been heavily involved in the course of study at St Miletus College in preparation for all that lies ahead for them. This course has been demanding in time and intellect but has also allowed for some important networks and contacts to be formed. There has also been opportunity for radio and television work and a number of other activities on Zoom. Some of the highlights have included a mission in Cape Town with the Rev Roger Simpson, a mission in Guildford with the Archbishop of Canterbury and an interview with Canon J John in his series of Facing the Canon that can be seen on YouTube.

Prayer and Prayer Warriors
It is sometimes easy to think that we can move forwards in our strength. Sometimes, even after we have prayed and sought the blessing of God, we might even think that it is all really our own doing. This Ministry has been mightily blessed by God since its inception. There have been ups and downs, but our Lord never promised that life would be easy, only promising us that He would walk with us. I believe that the solid prayer support from a wide range of individuals is a reason for so much encouragement. The comments on prayer gladiators are always warm our hearts. The weekly devotions, during lockdown and written by Trustees were a great help and encouragement to all of us. “If my people will humble themselves pray and seek my face” is as relevant today for us all as it was when it was written all of those years ago (2 Chronicles 7v14). We also continue to be thankful for the support and guidance to us all, but particularly to Warren and Dee, by the Rev Roger Simpson.
Finance
When we look back over our journey with ACE our finances are truly amazing and beyond our wildest dreams and expectations. We did apply for a number of grants (unsuccessfully), and we were at the beginning thinking charging for missions. Neither of these actions has proved necessary. We have been mightily blessed by an anonymous supporter of this charity and through ongoing donations that have often been made after the completion of missions. We have a great deal to be thankful for in the way that God has met our every need.
Focus
I am grateful to all the trustees in ensuring that the focus of the ministry remains clear and stays on track into the future of bringing the words and life of Jesus Christ to life for our nation. We continue to give glory, praise and honour to our God. We were much in prayer about the outcome of the BAP (Bishop’s Advisory Panel) which took place in early July 2022 and confirmed that both Warren and Dionne would move forward into training for ordination.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
We are grateful for the regular support of a small but committed group of donors who, together with adhoc donations from mission partners, have more than met the financial needs of the charity. Regular donations during the year ranged from £10 per month to £4,400 per month.
Total receipts for the year amounted £67,054 and total payments amounted to £47,353 which resulted in an excess of receipts over payments (surplus) of £19,701. The top four categories of payments were:
- Payroll costs £30,718 2. Travel and subsistence £5,110 3. Motor vehicle and running expenses £3,261 4. Consumable equipment and website costs £1,906
All money raised for the charity is used to provide the activities and for administrative costs. We do not invest money but keep our reserves in a bank savings account, moving money between the current account and the savings account to maximise return on our funds, while ensuring the smooth running of the charity.

POLICY ON RESERVES
The charity’s main item of regular committed expenditure is the salary of its sole employee. Average monthly expenditure, including exceptional items, over the period of this report was £3,946.
Maintaining reserves to cover three months of normal expenditure is deemed appropriate and during the period, we have exceeded this level throughout the year.
COVID-19 changed the way the ministry operated with a move to online events during lockdowns and face to face events only when possible. The easing of COVID restrictions has seen a move back to in person events. Our regular funders have continued to give generously throughout the period. We have however seen a fall in donations normally received at events, but this has been broadly matched by a reduction in our operating costs.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
The ministry has an exciting future, and we can see new developments emerging. The growing relationship with Holy Trinity Brompton has led to Warren and Dee studying on the Peter stream at St. Miletus college while also being engaged in the life of the church on Sundays. We are grateful for the training and support being so generously provided by Holy Trinity Brompton.
Face-to-face events are again becoming more common, and we look forward to these opportunities continuing to grow.
