|activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.|1.19|is the bulk of our charitable work, benefit
the children taking part by enabling them
with personal and group strategies to help
them cope with negative social behaviour
by others. With an increase in a positive
appreciation of pro-social behaviour and
how to action it, they benefit from a calmer
school environment conducive to learning.
Expansively and happily, the workshops
also allow the children to experience a
vivid, fun, interactive, artistic and dramatic
experience.
We were successful when applying to John
Lyons Charity (JLC) for a Three Year Main
Grant to support our Bully Awareness
Project. We will receive a total of £36,000,
released in three annual tranches of
£12,000, starting during this reporting
period.
We applied to Arts Council England (ACE)
for a Main Grant to support our Bullying
Awareness Project and were awarded a
grant of £30,000. A portion of this grant
was delivered during this reporting period.|

|||Both these grants allowed us to tour our
Bullying Awareness Workshop to primary
schools in Ealing and Brent, benefiting
1,721 Year 4 children, during the academic
year 2022/2023.
We also received a small grant of £2378.50
from Young Ealing Foundation to allow
primary aged children with a disadvantaged
background to attend Monster Cat
Theatre’s after school drama club at
several schools in Ealing.
We also continued to improve and
formalise our planning and governance
policies and procedures with the invaluable
help of our dedicated Trustees. The latter
provided professional advice and practical
help on funding, finance and child
safeguarding. Our charity feels truly
supported by our Trustees.|

|Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.|Para 1.20|As a consequence of our grants from ACE
and JLC, we were able to tour our Bullying
Awareness Workshop to 23 primary
schools in Ealing and Brent, reaching over
1700 children and 62 teachers.
We provide each teacher we visit with an
evaluation report. The feedback was
overwhelmingly positive, and indicated that
the beneficiaries taking part had increased
their abilities to deal positively and
effectively with all aspects of bullying. The
reports also showed an increased
improvement in positive social interaction
between the children taking part. Both
these effects benefit the wider school
community, and also the families and
communities of the beneficiaries, as there
is a general improvement in positive social
behaviour. In response to the question,
‘How useful was the workshop?’ 80% of
teachers rated it 5/5, 20% 4/5. We didn’t
receive anything lower than 4.
This is the first year we have provided a
pupil online evaluation form. We received
223 responses from 7 different schools. In
response to the multiple-choice question,
‘Do you think the workshop will help you
know what to do when someone is being
bullied?’, 55.9% replied ‘Aways’ and 26.6%
replied ‘A lot’, 16.2% chose ‘A little’. Only
1.4% of responses chose, ‘Never’.
Our Young Ealing Foundation grant
allowed children identified their by schools
as disadvantaged in life to attend Monster
Cat Theatre’s after school drama club. This
contributed to the social and educational
development of the children taking part.|

|Other||Plans for the Future:
We will be expanding the reach of our
bullying awareness workshop into Brent,
which has one of the lowest rates of artistic
engagement for young people in London.
We hope to understand the appreciation of
our workshops by expanding our online
child beneficiary evaluation form.
We are actively searching for new trustees
who will ethnically diversify our board, and
consequently broaden its understanding of
our community and wider society.
Also, we are also planning to ethnically
diversify the actual delivery of our
workshops, by seeking out and training
practitioners from ethnic minorities. This will
require additional funding.|
