Over the p8Styear. Haworth RDA Broup has teached many people in the community. whilst offering respite care to the families 8nd carers of our riders. This was achieved with the help of the Blg Lottery Fund providing wages. and with our many volunteers and stsff delivering fundraising activities each month. whilst still providing therapeutic lessons. The group has fflaintained a high-level profile in the local community enabkn'ng them to deliver their services. whilst reaching 28 community groups. Since the COVID-19 p8ndemlc, VIE have h8d to 8dju8tthew8ythe riding lessonsweret8king place and we have had some rlders not retum fully to their activities yet. This has c8used 8 drop in rider numbers. but we are slowly Increasing and are now m8king m8ny of our lessons group lessons instèad of individual lessons. The charity employs2 full-iime stsff members and 9 part-time staff. salaries for these posis is funded by the Big Lottery Fund (Restricied Income). The Clrity relies tuviiy on its many volunteers. The charity hold5 monthly committee meetings during the year in which all the trustees attend. The Havrth RDA group is committed to en8bllng as many people as possible to ride at our facility and become partofa team. The Havffjrth RDA maintains an overviewofactivities through the group and makes suggestions on howour services can Involve as many groups that visit each week. Our services and actNtties are put into practice through riding, stable management, events. and competitions, 8fter-$chool clubs. lunch clubs. and holiday clubs. The Haworth RDA Is keen to offer 8 range of services duringthe yek and over the course ofthe year that our riders find beneflci81. tor example, riding lessons. dances. competitions. arts and crafts etc. We hÉve 38 regular riders at present and 33 sessions each wèèk. We have h8d 3 of our Tlders attend the Speclal Olympics event in Wirr81 as part of the Deam Valley te8m. It was a great couple of days of competing and socialising. W8 h8ve one young volunteer workingtowards their YELA (Young Equestrian Leaders Award) We have had 4 Duke of Edinburgh young people 8ttend the group for 8 period of time to gain their volunteer part of their award. H8WOrth RDA has been pleased to accommodate 4 people for work placements.
