Recently the policies on Equality and diversity, Health and safety (in light of acquisition of a property in Scotland), Safeguarding adults and children, code of conduct and antibullying and harassment have been updated. - the charity’s organisational structure and any wider network with which the charity works; - relationship with any related parties; In addition to this, as the charity has a presence in Scotland, an application for registration with the Scottish charity commission will be in process. - trustees’ consideration of major risks and the system and procedures to manage them. ## **Relationships** We are working more Collaboratively with other Mohanji Foundations in the world such as Serbia, India and Slovenia. as well as engaging with the work of other Mohanji platforms which are consistent with the objectives of Mohanji Foundation UK along with ACT Foundation in the UK for fundraising efforts which are being conducted jointly. Net income generated is being shared. ## **Risks** The Foundation is fully covered for existing activities both within and outside the MCB by obtaining appropriate insurance with Zurich insurance company. The Foundation has also set up a limited company called MCB Enterprises Ltd to minimise exposure to risk, in particular for non-primary **TAR** March **2012** 2 purpose trading activities of the Mohanji Centre of Benevolence. In light of the purchase of a property in Scotland, the health and safety policy has been updated. Strategic direction for Mohanji Centre of Benevolence and a pledge to have an MCB within a year was made by the group. ## **Mind Body and Spirit festival** A stall was bought over 4 days of the mind bod and spirit festival in Earls Court. The main activities at the stall were: **Setting up of Mohanji Centre of Benevolence (MCB):** Our long-term aim of buying a property to serve as the headquarters of Mohanji Foundation and meet our key charitable objectives was realised in Feb 2023. The Trustees created a specification, road map and set up teams for property search and fundraising. In March 2022, the murtis (idols) of Shirdi Baba, Lord Ganesh and Lord Dattatreya were commissioned from Jaipur in March 2022. **TAR** March **2012** 4 In November 2022, after a long and exhaustive search across the UK, an offer was accepted on a property called Smallburn in Cairnie, Huntly, Aberdeenshire, AB54 4UE. This was a 14-acre farm and met the specifications that we had set for our MCB. ## **Fundraising activities** Such as Diwali dinner and dance in October 2022, selling at food stalls, Xmas wrapping service. Auction of Mohanji clothes and personal effect articles ## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)** ## **Policy on grant making.** We are work collaboratively with other Mohanji Foundations in the world including the Mohanji International Foundation such as Serbia, India and Slovenia and will look to support their activities and MCB development through any grant applications that they may make using our funding application form. You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about: - policy on grantmaking; - policy programme related investment; - contribution made by volunteers. ## **Contribution made by volunteers** Funds for the MCB purchase and refurbishment were raised by donations from volunteers along with interest free loans of various lengths from 18 months to 10 years. All of the activities have been undertaken by dedicated unpaid volunteers. The number of volunteers has increased over the reporting period and the scope of activities has also increased, in particular Mai-Tri practitioners and yoga activities. We have three permanent full-time volunteers based at the Mohanji Centre of Benevolence in Scotland to look after the property, perform the daily worship and to welcome volunteers. We are looking to increase the number of full-time residents at the property in due course as we expand our activities. in Central London. This was very successful with about 100
participants, which was the capacity of the hall.

We therefore had reduced costs for renting of spaces but increased costs for Zoom accounts. ## **Income** The principal source of funds were: - Interest free loans from volunteers/supporters of £538,000 over terms from 18 months to 10 years for purchase of the MCB. - - Donations of about £127,000 mainly for the purchase and refurbishment of the MCB - One day programme conducted in Central London in March 2022 with Mohanji - Retreat programme in June - - Diwali dinner and dance programme in conjunction with ACT Foundation UK - Donations sourced locally through one off contributions or regular monthly donations. - - Auction of Mohanji articles - Donation duringone day programmes - Sale of books and merchandise - Incomes generating activities such, one day programmes. - Fundraising programmes such as Xmas wrapping and food stalls. **Expenditure supporting the key objectives.** The main objective of Mohanji Foundation UK is to advance the Sanatana dharma universal religion in accordance with the teachings of Mohanji. The core principle being Ahimsa (non-violence). All the expenditure of the charity is related to facilitating and meeting this objective. The Mohanji Centre of Benevolence has been a key objective to act as the headquarters of the foundation and be a living demonstration of the teachings. It provides a space for worship, meditation, yoga. Walks in nature, offering people the opportunity to connect with nature and the beings of nature and thus appreciating the interconnectivity and interdependence of life on earth and to allow people the space and silent environment to connect with their inner selves. The expenditure for the activities outside the MCB, retreats, programmes, meditations, satsangs both on line and in person all relate to furthering the objectives of the charity. ## **Investment policy** Currently the charity has only the MCB property as it’s headquarters along with the assets in the property. Apart from that there are currently no other investments. However, when the charity is in a position to invest, the policy for investments will be based on ethical investments which is very much in keeping with the objectives of the charity. ## **Section F Other optional information** The charity is looking to support the set up of physical ‘ashram’ locations both in the UK and abroad so support the objectives of the foundation. This includes supporting the set up of land/building in India and Slovenia initially as well as supporting the Mohanji centre of benevolence in the UK.
