for environment/conservation/heritage.
Supports and helps promote the Lord Bowland Annual Lecture;
presents Champion Bowland plaques to recipients of Small Grants in
order to raise awareness and community involvement.
Pin-badge boxes at businesses, such as cafes, tea shops, tourism
venues and accommodation providers. The pin badges are a mix of
Forest of Bowland locator and logo-ed Forest of Bowland NL badges.| March **2012** **TAR** 3 ## **Additional details of objectives and activities (Optional information)** Trustees are seeking to encourage volunteer and/or more trustees to get involved with Champion Bowland. Two new volunteers this year support trustees by visiting selected pin-badge box outlets to top up badge supply and collect cash. You **may choose** to include further statements, where relevant, about: - policy on grantmaking; - policy programme related investment; - contribution made by volunteers. ## Section D Achievements and performance March **2012** **TAR** 4 ## Section D Achievements and performance £1,275 in small grants (up to £750) awarded between August 2024 and **Summary of the main** July 2025 **achievements of the charity during the year** Support of Lord of Bowland annual lecture Discover Bowland website traffic indicates a continued rise in visitors looking at staying in the Forest of Bowland Badge boxes, promoting visitor giving, providing an income flow. Providing running costs for the Sabden Tramper all terrain accessible vehicle (funded originally by the Pendle Hill Landscape Project & Heritage Fund. Now managed by the Forest of Bowland NL team, and organised by a small group of volunteers in Sabden). Hirers of the freeto-use Tramper may make ‘thank you’ donations to Champion Bowland. These donations are ring-fenced for running costs such as electricity and servicing of the tramper. ## **Section E Financial review** March **2012** **TAR** 5 Reserves are rolled over to the following financial year. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: - examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act; - to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and - to state whether particular matters have come to my attention ## **Basis of independent examiner's report** My examination was carried out in accordance with the general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair view' and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below. ## **Independent examiner's statement** In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: (1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements: - to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the 2011 Act; and - to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the 2011 Act have not been met; or (2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. ## Shweta Pankhadiwala C/o Lancaster District CVS, The Cornerstone Sulyard Street Lancaster LA1 1PX 17th September 2025.
