Our key objectives for the year

● To continue to function as a fundraising body
● To maintain current membership level and seek to recruit additional volunteers
● To support a residential trip if requested
● To cover the cost of Trophies in recognition of achievement and leavers vouchers
● To provide a tuck shop for pupils and parents during music centre activities
● To support individual requests for support via a request form and according to established criteria. This will be ongoing.

Review of activities and achievements

We aim to support musical learning in Rotherham by supporting the work of Rotherham Music Hub by financial contributions when requested. This support can be for a group or an individual and is decided on by the trustees and voting members of the CIO when appropriate.

To help children and young people, but not exclusively pupils of Rotherham Music, through education and leisure activities and to engage with the wider arts to develop their capabilities and grow to full maturity as positive individuals and members of society.

To continue to raise money from events by providing refreshments and raffles. To explore additional ways of raising funds.

The Friends of Rotherham Music has continued to function as a group, with new Trustees and volunteers.

The current balance of the Friends charity account is £11,035.29

Income was £764 coming from concert sales including a raffle, donation buckets and refreshments.

Expenditure of £789.24 included gifts to leavers, insurance and subscriptions

Community Service

By continuing to support musical learning and activities in Rotherham we are benefitting the wider community. Our support continues to enable musical

learning in the Town. Young people who have been learning an instrument gain patience and perseverance, responsibility, self-esteem, better reading skills,

exposure to other cultures, coordination, maths skills, self-expression, increases memory abilities and aids social skills.

Aims and objectives for next year

The other objectives will also apply i.e.:

● To continue to function as a fundraising body
● To support a residential trip if requested
● To continue to raise money from events
● To explore fundraising possibilities with Rotherham Music
● To support individual requests for support via a request form and according to established criteria.

Opportunities to raise funds have been limited, we seek to increase the opportunities to raise funds to support children and young people’s musical journey.
