Review of activities and achievements

We aim to support musical learning in Rotherham by supporting the work of Rotherham Music Hub by financial contributions when requested. This support can be for a group or an individual and is decided on by the trustees and voting members of the CIO when appropriate.

To help children and young people, but not exclusively pupils of Rotherham Music, through education and leisure activities and to engage with the wider arts to develop their capabilities and grow to full maturity as positive individuals and members of society.

To continue to raise money from events by providing refreshments and raffles. To explore additional ways of raising funds.

The Friends of Rotherham Music has continued to function as a group, with new Trustees and volunteers.

The current balance of the Friends charity account is £11,276.51.

Income was £1,117.10 coming from concert sales including a raffle, donation buckets and refreshments.

Expenditure of £317.60 included gifts to leavers, insurance and subscriptions

Community Service

By continuing to support musical learning and activities in Rotherham we are

benefitting the wider community. Our support continues to enable musical

learning in the Town. Young people who have been learning an instrument gain

patience and perseverance, responsibility, self-esteem, better reading skills,

exposure to other cultures, coordination, maths skills, self-expression, increases

memory abilities and aids social skills.

The main objectives for next year are to forge closer links to the music service as

one of the aims is to enable Rotherham Music to be able to access funding via

bidding through the charity.
