Objectives and Activities
Purpose of the charity
To relief the needs of persons who are victims of and survivors of domestic violence and or
abuse in Cornwall and the surrrounding areas, but not exclusively, by providing counselling
and practical support for victims of domestic violence, raising public awareness of
domestic abuse issues and in such other ways as the trustees may from time to time decide.
Main activities of the charity
True Butterflies Foundation supports families who have experienced domestic abuse. We do
this by aiding them in supporting, rebuilding and empowering. Our support begins with our
fully trained mentors, They are here to support you through every step of your journey. We
can offer you help rebuilding your life, we now offer counselling and links to therapy for you
and your family.
The trustees have read the public benefit guidelines and agree that the charity meets all
the criteria.
Achievements and Performance
The number of clients continues to rise, as the effects of Covid 19 are ongoing. We have
now opened up a support hub where we can support the whole family and offer
mentoring, therapies and groups.
Metamorphis, our group started in 2021 continues to help survivors find their identity and
move forward.
Financial Review
The charity has been successful in a number of significant grant applications which have
resulted in a profit of £5,058 at the end of this financial year. Overheads have increased,
primarily staff wages and rent on the new premises.
The trustees will undertake a review of their reserves policy at their next meeting now that
the charity is well established and there is some stability. There has not been a reserves
policy to date as all efforts were put into growing the charity and supporting clients through
the pandemic lockdowns.
Declaration
