learning disability who are socially excluded, including by providing
facilities for engagement in performing arts and amateur sport.
For the purposes of this clause “socially excluded” means being excluded
from society, or parts of society, as a result of learning disability| |---|---| ||QQF provides weekly performing arts sessions and weekly sports
sessions.
The performing arts sessions develop beneficiaries’ skills in acting, dance,
prop-making, stage management, and in devising, rehearsing and
performing shows.
The sports sessions provide opportunities for both individual and team
sports such as table tennis and football. There is also a weekly walking
group.
In addition to developing service users’ talents in performing arts and
sports, their self-confidence and assertiveness is enhanced. QQF sessions
also provide an opportunity for social interaction between users whose
lives can otherwise be very isolated. Shows have been performed in
public and in colleges and schools, and football matches played with other
local teams – as well as developing skills and building self esteem events
such as these promote inclusion in the wider community and raise public
awareness.
The beneficiaries are adults with a learning disability. Although we would
not wish to exclude anyone on the ground of age, if adult, QQF service
users tend to be over the age of 25 since there is nowadays little further
education provision for those over this age. Most current QQF users live
in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington, though again we would
not exclude anyone from joining on geographic grounds.
Beneficiaries have been made aware of QQF via word of mouth from
other beneficiaries and family members, through local community groups
and voluntary organisations and a further education college. Flyers are
distributed at performances and a website has been developed. We intend
to build on and extend these activities in order to broaden awareness.
QQF sessions are led by Joe Murphy and Diane Leverett who both have
many years experience of working with people with a learning disability
and have relevant qualifications in performing arts and sport. They have
enhanced DBS checks.
The trustees confirm that they have complied with the requirements of
section 4 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the public
benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for England and

March **2012** **TAR** 4 Section D Achievements and performance Please see website for full record of activities QQF **Summary of the main achievements of the charity** The group are currently working on the production of Shakespear’s **during the year** Macbeth which is scheduled for performance in June 2025. This is against the backdrop of previous performances and QQF sees each production as a continuation of the ongoing therapy and development of its actors/members through the performing arts and amateur sporting activity. November 17th Kestrel House School, Crouch End, London N8 "Moonhead & The Music Machine" (abridged 30 minute version for AntiBullying Week) June 16th Camden People's Theatre "Moonhead & The Music Machine" QQF's first full-length show (45 mins). An adaptation of the graphic novel by Andrew Rae. May 19th LDN Drop-in Camden, 104a Queen's Crescent NW5 4DU Dementia Awareness Week. Joint workshop (incl QQF performance) with LDN. QQF preview excerpts from "A Midsummer Ice Cream" March **2012** **TAR** 5 ## **Section E Financial review** QQF activities are primarily financed by the session subs paid by **Brief statement of the charity’s** members (performers) participating in the weekly activities. Costs are **policy on reserves** flexible but room hire for sessions is paid monthly in advance. QQF has a stated ambition to maintain reserves (cash in hand and in bank account) at a level equal to 3 months expenses taken from the average of the previous 3 years accounts. However, in recognition that QQF is still a small charity this is a substantial amount to withhold from its core activities and because QQF fixed expenditure/overheads are relatively low (staffing costs are on a flexible contract basis), are closely managed and not subject to significant change without notice, QQF will primarily ensure that reserves will be maintained at a minimum level equal to (budgeted) 6 months’ recurrent fixed costs of rent and 1 years insurance, IT and audit costs at all times. Based on the QQF budget and accounts ending 5/4/2025 the minimum reserve would be £3,650. The stated ambition would be a target reserve of £6,414.50. I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. **Independent** I have completed my examination.
