Message from the Chair
Rosie’s Rainbow Pantry was established in late 2017 as a lasting legacy to Rosie Abbott, who died from cancer on 27 January 2017.
It has been nearly 10 years since the charity was founded, and during that time it has exceeded our expectations by supporting families across England.
Our continued partnerships with Together for Short Lives, Acorns, and Zoe’s Place have helped us reach families in need. Additional referrals have also come from Derian House Children’s Hospice, Julia’s House, Saint Mary’s Hospital NICU, Rainbow Trust, and CHIPS. This year we have sent over 140 deliveries.
Once again this year, we have been deeply grateful to everyone who has fundraised for us in Rosie’s name.
We are delighted to continue making a difference to families’ lives in memory of our beautiful Rosie, who remains deeply missed by us all.

Trustees’ Report
We have continued to support families whose child is receiving end-of-life care at home, in a hospice, or in hospital. It’s from this point our support starts from, for a maximum of 6 months or 6 shops (whichever is sooner) and this period includes support after the child has passed away.
We are here to support families in the period leading up to a child’s death, not only afterwards, so that families can benefit from continuity of support during end-oflife and bereavement. We want to ensure support is offered consistently, fairly and in line with the agreed pathway.
Following the previous increase, in the number of shops provided, it was identified that not all referrals met the charity’s criteria. Communications were therefore sent to referrers to ensure that the eligibility criteria was being applied consistently.
A new referral form has been designed, and work is ongoing to roll this out as an online form. We are hoping to include a space where families can include their 5 favourite foods for their family/child. We have previously allowed families to send their own shopping list however, this doesn’t align with our consistent and fair approach. With this in mind, we are looking to have a set shop for example, a family of 2,3,4 etc and adapt this to suit dietary restrictions such as vegan, halal, non-dairy.
We have also redesigned our information leaflets and Pop-Up banners which will be used at events. The new design is fun, bright and eye catching!
The Charity Commission records are now fully up to date with all Trustees’ names and account information. The dual-authorisation banking mandate has also been updated, as agreed by all Trustees. During this process, address details were also updated to support the smooth operation of the charity’s banking arrangements and any future applications.
Rosies Rainbow Pantry are now the proud sponsors of Coventry Girls Cricket Club (CGCC) Development Star of the Week. This award goes to the girl/s who show great attitude and commitment. CGCC: Empowering girls, one boundary at a time.

Objective
The main aim of the charity is to provide food and essential provisions for families whose children are receiving end-of-life care in their own homes, in a hospice, or in hospital. The charity is a much-needed resource, addressing the need for immediate practical support for extremely vulnerable families. It aims to complement the work of the community palliative multidisciplinary team, who go above and beyond their roles to help ensure families remember to eat and drink during their darkest days.
“Parents are in an impossible position. While trying to care for and anticipate the needs of their dying child, they can feel guilty and torn in many directions about not being able to meet everybody’s needs.”

Background information
The charity was established as a legacy to Rosie Abbott, who sadly passed away after an incredibly brave five-year battle with high-grade, fast-growing brain tumours. Rosie was the winner of The Pride of Coventry and Warwickshire 2015 – Child of Courage, and also won BBC Radio 1’s Teen Hero Award in 2015.
Rosie endured far more than anyone should ever have to face, and her fortitude in the face of adversity was truly inspirational. Rosie put her illness aside and spearheaded multiple fundraising campaigns.

Rosie achieved so much in her short life. She lived life to the fullest until her body could no longer allow it. Beautiful, inspirational, and courageous, Rosie passed away peacefully in January 2017 at just 15 years old.
Rosie was a truly inspirational young girl who achieved an incredible amount in her short life. Whilst battling cancer, she managed to raise over £20,000.00 for multiple charities.
Rosie’s Rainbow Pantry was established to support families spending their final days or weeks together. Sadly, Rosie’s family experienced first-hand that, during those precious final weeks, the last thing on their minds was going to the supermarket and buying provisions for the family. They were fortunate to have a strong network of family and friends who provided home-cooked meals and ensured that their fridge, freezer, and cupboards remained well stocked.

Care Provision
The charity aims to provide food deliveries to families whose children are receiving end-of-life care. Families, through a referrer, complete an application form to confirm their requirements. Contact with the family is made through the referrer, typically via an NHS Trust, police liaison officers, local hospices, and Together for Short Lives.

We have continued to meet our aims and have supported hundreds of families over the last year. We continue to use Tesco Click and Collect and delivery services to support the
families we help.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF ROSIE'S RAINBOW PANTRY
I report to the trustees on my examination of the financial statements of Rosie's Rainbow Pantry (the ) for the year ended 30 September 2025.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the you are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011.
I report in respect of my examination of the ’s financial statements carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011. In carrying out my examination I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act 2011.
Independent examiner's statement
Your attention is drawn to the fact that the charity has prepared the financial statements in accordance with the relevant version of the Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their financial statements in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) in preference to the Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice issued on 1 April 2005 which is referred to in the extant regulations but has now been withdrawn. I understand that this has been done in order for the financial statements to provide a true and fair view in accordance with UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1 accounting records were not kept in respect of the as required by section 130 of the Charities Act 2011.

2 the financial statements do not accord with those records; or

3 the financial statements do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of financial statements set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the financial statements give a true and fair view, which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.

1 Accounting policies
Charity information
Rosie's Rainbow Pantry is a charity which aims are to provide food and provisions for families whose children are receiving end of life care in their own homes, hospice or in hospital.
1.1 Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the 's governing document, the Charities Act 2011, FRS 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities: Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)". The is a Public Benefit Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP for charities not to prepare a statement of cash flows.
The financial statements have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only to the extent required to provide a true and fair view. This departure has involved following the Statement of Recommended Practice for charities applying FRS 102 rather than the version of the Statement of Recommended Practice which is referred to in the Regulations but which has since been withdrawn.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling, which is the functional currency of the . Monetary amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
1.2 Going concern
At the time of approving the financial statements, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees continue to adopt the going concern basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of their charitable objectives.
1.4 Income
Income is recognised when the is legally entitled to it after any performance conditions have been met, the amounts can be measured reliably, and it is probable that income will be received.
Cash donations are recognised on receipt. Other donations are recognised once the has been notified of the donation, unless performance conditions require deferral of the amount.
1.5 Expenditure
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefit to a third party, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement, and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably.
Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs of each activity are made up of the total of direct costs and shared costs, including support costs involved in undertaking each activity. Direct costs attributable to a single activity are allocated directly to that activity. Shared costs which contribute to more than one activity and support costs which are not attributable to a single activity are apportioned between those activities on a basis consistent with the use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of time spent, and depreciation charges are allocated on the portion of the asset’s use.

1.6 Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call with banks, other short-term liquid investments with original maturities of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown within borrowings in current liabilities.
Derecognition of financial liabilities
Financial liabilities are derecognised when the ’s contractual obligations expire or are discharged or cancelled.
2 Critical accounting estimates and judgements
In the application of the ’s accounting policies, the trustees are required to make judgements, estimates and assumptions about the carrying amount of assets and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and other factors that are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates.
The estimates and underlying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions to accounting estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects only that period, or in the period of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future periods.
