## _**Structure Governance and Management**_

The organisation was created c.1941. It was formed as an Association and its objectives have remained the same throughout. It is managed by a core committee with a number of additional helpers drafted in when needed to run events. There is a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer who are re-elected each year. It became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation or CIO in February 2018.

## _**Charitable Aims and Objectives**_

To run events to raise funds to support predominantly local organisations which provide facilities and activities for local children and to groups participating in the gala. These events include, but are not limited to, an annual gala, a number of discos for younger children’s age group and a children’s pet show. Funds raised are then donated back local organisations and the individual participating groups.

## _**Review of Activities**_

In 2024 the Gala continues to be the primary fundraising event through programme advertising sales, a raffle and collection buckets through the period running up to and including Gala day. Due to the generosity of the local people and businesses we continue to maintain our record of giving money to children’s organisations.

## _**Policy on Reserves**_

The Association’s policy on reserves is to return as much money back to the community as possible whilst retaining enough money as reserves to fund next year’s activities. Income in 2024 is increased with more advertising and increased raffle sales. We have seen some increase in expenses, most notably regarding event insurance and the cost of entertainment acts for the Gala day. We have marginally increased the level of donations resulting in a moderate decline in the level of reserves.

## _**Committee Members Payments, Benefits and Expenses**_

There are no payments or personal expenses paid to any member of the committee.

## _**Accounting Policies**_

The accounts of Eldwick and Gilstead Gala Association for the period ended 31[st] December 2024 which have been prepared under a Receipts and Payments basis.

Because of this approach donations which apply to a given year do not always show in the accounts until the following year.

There is no income other than that generated by the activities of the Association and as such there are no restricted funds.
