Structure Governance and Management

The organisation was created over 60 years ago. It was formed as an Association and its objectives have remained the same throughout. It is managed by a core committee with a number of additional helpers drafted in when needed to run events. There is a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer who are re-elected each year. It became a Charitable Incorporated Organisation or CIO in February 2018.

Charitable Aims and Objectives

To run events to raise funds to support predominantly local organisations which provide facilities and activities for local children and to groups participating in the gala. These events include, but are not limited to, an annual gala, a number of discos for younger children’s age group and a children’s pet show that raise funds which are then donated back to the individual participating groups.

Review of Activities

In 2022 we decided that would not cache for entry, the largest attendance we have had in many a year would be have made it difficult to operate. Instead, we organise a raffle and by people with buckets going round the field on the day. Due to the generosity of the local people and businesses we were able to maintain our record of giving money to children’s organisations.

The charity employs no staff nor does it have any property or buildings so the financial effect of Covid has been minimal.

Policy on Reserves

The Association’s policy on reserves is to return as much money back to the community as possible whilst retaining enough money as reserves to fund next year’s activities. In recent years the income has grown sharply due to changes in advertising charges following changing the programme to provide colour print. Reserves generated have therefore been greater than in previous years.

Committee Members Payments, Benefits and Expenses

There are no payments or personal expenses paid to any member of the committee.
