Charity Name: **Kirklees Communities Who Can CIO** Charity ID: **1177121** Annual Report: **01/04/2021 - 31/03/2022**

Prepared by J.J. Shone (Chair)

During this tax period, the CIO has sought and considered grant applications from various 3[rd] sector sources. No applications submitted to the CIO fit the criteria that we had set out for awarding money. We voted to contact Kirklees Homes and Neighbourhoods and other departments with links to the 3rd sector to discuss possible collaboration opportunities to support their funding applications but stipulated that any applications must benefit the wider community.

We held our Annual General Meeting on Thursday 12[th] May at 19:00.

In the last tax period, the CIO awarded £500 to Thornhill Parochial Emergency Food, during the AGM our trustee Bruce Bellwood liaised with Thornhill Parochial Emergency Food to provide the CIO with an update on how they have spent this money. Thornhill Parochial Emergency Food confirmed that they have used the money to provide much-needed food to the disadvantaged across their community, including the elderly, single parents and homeless.

Finally, during the AGM, Bruce Bellwood stepped down from his role of trustee as required by our constitution. Following this, the remaining trustees voted Bruce Bellwood back to the position of trustee.

Our next Annual General Meeting is due to be held in late April or early May 2023.

Treasurers report on the CIO’s finances.
