Kirklees Communities Who Can CIO – 1177121 Annual Report 01/04/2020 – 31/03/2021 Prepared by A.M. Kenworthy Due to lockdown and associated issues the Trustees made the decision to suspend the CIO’s activities. Some of the reasons being. - Our registered office closed its doors, and we were unable to access our mail and other documents relevant to the operation of the CIO. - There was a big push locally on volunteering and supporting the community which was led by the local authority. This included funding and other resources. - We believed it would be beneficial to hold back until after the pandemic and then support communities in their recovery, helping to rebuild community capacity when funding may be less available. - Some Trustees’ being in the high-risk group, under additional pressures as front-line key workers or directing their energy to more local and immediate causes. - Limited technical capacity which restricted regular and affective Trustees meeting. The one exception to this being a donation of £500 paid in May to Thornhill Prochial for emergency food supplies. Our next AGM is due to take place late March or early April 2022.
