The charity also advances the Islamic faith through educational and religious activities and promotes Turkish and Kurdish culture, heritage and traditions. The Trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit and are satisfied that the charity's activities continue to provide significant benefit to the communities it serves. Activities and Achievements During 2024-2025 Throughout the year the Association continued to deliver a range of activities aimed at strengthening community engagement, supporting families, promoting education and preserving cultural heritage. Key activities included: • Weekly family breakfast and community gatherings promoting social inclusion and reducing isolation. • Educational support programmes for children and young people aged 4–18 years, including homework support, mentoring and cultural education. • Sports and recreational activities encouraging healthy lifestyles and positive engagement among young people. • Cultural celebrations and community events showcasing Anatolian, Turkish and Kurdish heritage through music, arts, traditional food and cultural presentations. • Religious and educational programmes including Islamic studies, community lectures and celebrations of important religious occasions. • Community advice and support services assisting families facing social and economic challenges. • Volunteer development opportunities enabling local residents to contribute to community activities and strengthen community cohesion. Impact The Association continued to provide a welcoming environment for individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. Through its activities the charity: - Supported children and young people in their educational development. - Improved social interaction and wellbeing among families and older community members. - Promoted intercultural understanding and community cohesion. - Encouraged participation in sport and healthy living activities. - Preserved and celebrated Anatolian cultural heritage. Volunteers The Trustees wish to express their sincere appreciation to all volunteers who have contributed their time, skills and dedication throughout the year. Without their support many of the charity's activities would not have been possible. Financial Review The charity continues to operate responsibly and in accordance with its governing document. Income has been generated through donations, fundraising activities, community contributions and grants where available. Expenditure has been directed towards the delivery of charitable activities, operational costs, educational programmes, community events and facility management. The Trustees continue to monitor the charity's financial position carefully to ensure sustainability and the effective use of charitable resources. Reserves Policy The Trustees aim to maintain sufficient reserves to ensure the continuity of the charity's services and to manage unforeseen circumstances. Reserve levels are reviewed regularly as part of the charity's financial management processes. Risk Management The Trustees have considered the major risks facing the charity and have implemented procedures to manage these risks. Areas regularly reviewed include: - Safeguarding - Health and Safety - Financial Controls - Data Protection - Volunteer Management - Governance Compliance Plans for 2025-2026 The Association intends to: - Expand educational and youth engagement programmes. - Increase support services for families and vulnerable community members. - Develop additional cultural and heritage projects. - Strengthen partnerships with local authorities, schools and community organisations. - Increase volunteer recruitment and training opportunities. - Improve community facilities and accessibility.
