|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to<br>the circumstances of its<br>beneficiaries and any wider<br>benefits to society as a<br>whole.|Para 1.20|The rented premises was vacated in<br>December 2021. This coincided with the<br>graduation of all of the residents except<br>three who had another year to go before<br>graduation. It was decided that the three<br>boys would stay with relatives, but continue<br>to be supported by HOCSL.<br>The building that was in progress last year,<br>was successfully completed in April 2022<br>and the first residents moved in in<br>September 2022. The period between April<br>and September was used to source<br>members of staff, prepare the home and<br>recruit residents through the Ministry of<br>Gender and Children’s affairs. Nine boys<br>under the age of ten were selected.<br>Although our numbers are small, the<br>impact on the community is great. It gets<br>children out of poverty, provides shelter,<br>education and nurturing in a caring<br>environment. The burden on relatives who<br>are alreadyoverstretched,is also relieved.|
