DECISION MAKING
RISK MANAGEMENT
The charity is administered by the Board of Trustees who meet quarterly, Delegated authority within the constitutional government document is given for day-to-day decisions and general operations to be overseen by the chair of the charity.
The major risks faced by the charity have been reviewed and systems of procedures have been established to manage those risks which include the task of monitoring financial control systems.

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
Sunderland Pride Centre was founded in 2018, to become a safe space for LGBT+ people to meet and make new friends. We work closely with Sunderland LGBT+ Network and partner with them for Sunderland Pride.

We work for LGBT+ People in the Northeast - Everyone deserves the right to feel safe, and not live in fear of who they are, and how they identify.
PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES
“Our charity's purposes are set out in the objects contained in the charity's constitution or to: “To promote equality and diversity for the public benefit in particular the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity of those living in the North of England by:

1) Raising awareness and educate the public about the issues and difficulties affecting the lives of lesbian gay bisexual and transgender LGBT+ People, their families’ friends and supporters of the wilder community as well as challenging homophobia transphobia at any negative attitudes and behaviors within society.

2) To collaborate with partners and organisations, public and private in developing initiatives that will enhance and safeguard LGBT+ people's lives, ensuring their inclusion in all respects of life, and that of their attitudes and behavior within society.

3) To promote social inclusion for the benefit of public by preventing LGBT+ people and allies from being socially excluded from society on the grounds of sexual orientation or gender identity.

4) Working in partnership to stage an annual LGBT+ festival and other small events including new regular social events for the LGBT+ community, held in a safe environment throughout the year.

5) To further any purpose which is charitable according to the law of England for the public for England and Wales for the public benefit as a trustee safe serve it from time to time.
We will review our aims, objectives and what we do each year, the review looks at what we have achieved and the outcomes of our work in the previous year. The review evaluated the success of the projects we have provided, and the benefits they have brought to the people we have supported the review also helps us to ensure our aims, objectives, and the project remains focused on our stated purposes.
We have referred to the guidance content in the charity commission's general

guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aims and objectives and when planning our future project delivery in particular the trustees consider how planned projects will contribute to the aims and objectives they have set.
Review of the reporting year and activities for achieving objective

This year we have been limited in our fundraising activities due to the lack of volunteers who we rely on to help us in our fundraising activities, our future aim is to concentrate on recruiting more volunteers in the future.

The trustees will continue to uphold the charities values and strive to meet its objectives will promote investing training development and developing relationships with external agencies we will continue to campaign raise awareness of hate crime in all its forms highlighting the devastating impact on victims especially within our LGBT+ community.

RESERVES POLICY
Presently due to the amount of income we have this does not apply, but in future trustees will have considered the Charity Commission recommendations on retrospective holding funds for general use to meet shortfall in funding and be reflected in future financial statements.
RISK ASSESSMENT
The trustees of the Sunderland Pride Centre have considered whether there are any risks to the charity is exposed to as of 31st January 2022. It is the opinion of the trustees that there's no significant material risk to which Sunderland Pride Centre is exposed.
STATEMENT TO THE RESPONSIBI L ITY OF THE TRUSTEES
All of the only trustees are aware of their responsibilities (charities act in 1992 and 93 and subsequent amendments) collectively to keep proper accounting records, to ensure that anytime a statement can be produced showing the up=to-date position

of the charity in respect of income and expenditure, assets and liabilities, and to produce a set of annual accounts according to the Reporting and Accounting Statement of the Recommended Practice 2005.
Trustees confirm that suitable practices policies are selected and have been applied constantly, observed methods of principles in the charities SORP and estimates reasonable and prudently prepared the financial statements on the ongoing concern unless it was inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation.
