They  then  elect  a  Chairman,<br>Vice-Chairman,  Secretary  and  Treasurer  from  amongst  themselves  for  the<br>year. In  accordance  with  Charity  Commission  guidance,  the  Association promotes  the  craft  of  beekeeping  by  offering  training  in  the  craft  of beekeeping  and  talks  to  interested  members  of  the  public.

Section  D                       Achievements  and  performance 

**Summary  of  the  main achievements  of  the  charity during  the  year** 

It  ran  the  2022  practical  Beginners  courses,  and  also  the  2022  equipment Auction Members  often  engage  in  presentations  to  public  groups  -  for  example school,  gardening  clubs,  Girl  Guides,  Rotary.  The  public  also  contact  us for  advice  through  our  website  on  honey  bees  and  indeed  flying  insect matters  of  all  types  -  especially  bumble  bees  and  wasps. 

Some  of  the  Association  members  provide  a  free  swarm  collection service  to  the  general  public  in  our  area.  Recent  budget  cuts  in organisations  such  as  York  City  Council,  Police,  local  businesses  and  the like  mean  that  when  they  are  contacted  by  the  public  with  a  bee  problem, the  callers  are  directed  to  YDBKA  for  assistance.
