Objectives and activities
To seNe the local community with swialist help for mental ill-heath through support groups,
¢ounselling. advocacy. and befriending. The core principles of CCAWS f￿u5 on deliverin9 techniques
that can used lo improve people's mental. social. embonal. and spiritual strength and ultimately
increasing wellbeing in the community.
CCAWS aim to provide sUPPOrt to all who need il but specialises in supporting people from the Black
Asian Minority Ethnic communib.es which is culturally and faith sensrtive to those that require it.
Achievements and performance
CCAWS was successfvl in se¢uring a grant from the B KJ Lottery Fund to delNer the Resilience in Mind
pilot project IRIMI, providing counselling over a &year perKJd Following that another large grant
enabled a 3-year project supporting prisoner release and rehabilitation.
CCAWS has wnlinued lo provide key services to supporl the community and also works wffth partners
of &milar interest. CCAWS works wlh partner agencies. T￿l¥e$ ieferrals from GP'S and mental
health services and takes walk in dEnt as well.
All projects, groups and activib'es are mon110￿d and captured on database with regular reports
provided to fvjnders.

Plans for future periods
CCAWS aim lo develop a 'one stop shop. that will complemènt and support existing Servi￿5. We are
aware there is a need for befriending, advwacy and counselling sèrvices with current service
providers struggling to meet demand.
Through the 5UPPOrt of voluntee[5, the praiect aims to reduce isolation and loneliness. The service has
the local comrnunity in mind delivering a service which is holisbc and ¢I￿nt led with the client al the
heart ofthe support.
CCAWS aims to secure long term funding to be able to tecrurt d￿li￿ated nEmbers of staff across all
three strands of befriending. advoc&y and coun5elling as well provide ￿er support and
psycho-educalion workshops.
CCAWS are undertaking a refvrbishtnent of th￿r offices in 2026. This will provide a belter p￿ce for clients and
staff. Tlis wll also enable better work ¥￿th partner agentxes. Parlner agencies wll be able lo wovide services
from CCAWS prèmisès mth.ng It for diénts to gel help wilh a variety of challenges.

We report to the trustees on our examination of the financial statements of Community Care &
Wellbeing Service ICCAWS) ('the charity'l for the year ended 31 January 2026_
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the trustees of the company. you are responsible for the preparatvn of the financk91 statements in
accordance wilh the requirements of the Companies Act 20061'the 20C6 ACYI.
Having satisfied ourselves thal the accounts of the ¢ornpany are not required to be audited under Part
16 of the 2006 Act and are eligiNe for independent examination. we report in respect of our
examination of Ihe Charity's a¢￿Unts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (the
2011 Act,). In carrying out our exarnination we have followed the Directions given by the Charity

These financial statements have been prepared in compliance wth FRS 102, 'The Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and the Republic of Ireland,, the Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their a¢¢ounts in accordance with the
Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021 (Charities
SORP IFRS 10211 and the Companies Act 2006.
Accountlng pollcles
Basis of preparation
The financial statements have been prepared on the historical cost basis. a5 modified by the
revaluation of certain financial assets and liabililies and investnEnl properties measured al fair
value through income or expenditure.
The financial statements are prepared in sterling. which is the functional currency of the enb"ty.
Golng concern
There are no material uncertainties about the Charity's abilty to cort'nue.
Foreign currencies
Foreign currency transactions are Inttialty recorded in the functional currency, by applying the
SFK)t exchange rate as at the date of the trdnsaction. Monetary assets and liabilities denominated
in ft)reign cutrencies are translated at the exchange rate ruling at the reporting date, with any
gains or losses being taken to the ststement of financial activities.
Fund accountlng
Unrestricted funds are available for use al the discretion of the trustees to ￿rther any of the
charty's purposes.
Designaled funds are unrestricted lunds earmarked by the trustees for particular future project or
commitment.
Restricted funds are subjected to ieslriclw)ns on their expenditure declared by the éonor or
through the terms of an appeal. and fall into one of two sub-classes.. restricted income funds or
endowment funds.

Defined contribution plans
Contributions to defined conlribulion plans are recognised as an expense in the period in which
the related service is provided. Prepaid conlribulions are recognised as an asset ID the extent
that the prepayment will lead to a reduction in future payments OT a cash refund.
When contributions are not expected to be setued wholly within 12 months of the end of the
reporting date in which the employees render the related servicE, the liability Is measured on a
discounted present value basis. The unwinding of the discount is recognised as an expense in
the period in which it arises.
