||**1) Campaigning to promote the social and economic importance**<br>**of reading, encouraging a shared responsibly across business,**<br>**public and voluntary communities, to make a positive**<br>**difference.**<br><br>CLT Website created, which includes a Paypal Giving Fund<br>donation button.<br><br>Facebook and Twitter are used on a regular basis to share with<br>families information related to literacy, the importance of<br>reading, latest reports, suggestions, ideas of activities to do at<br>home etc.<br>**2) Promoting and supporting new and established children’s**<br>**literacy initiatives to inspire a generation of children to read,**<br>**grow and succeed.**<br><br>**Making Big Memories with Little Babies**initiative established in<br>partnership with The Health Tree Foundation, Scunthorpe<br>General Hospital, ensures that families with babies on the<br>neonatal intensive care unit receive a gift bag containing a<br>book, nursery rhyme CD and information about the importance<br>of families sharing songs and stories with their baby whilst in<br>hospital to help aid brain development, communication and<br>bonding.<br><br>**Fun Family Literacy Kits**– 500 early year’s packs including a<br>copy of Addy’s book, A Place Called Home, were distributed<br>during the 1stlockdown via children’s centres, early years<br>providers and schools. In addition to this a further 100 primary<br>school family literacy kits were gifted. £1500 was raised by local<br>companies, groups and individuals to purchase the kits, plus we<br>received donations of books, and resources from national<br>companies including Booktrust, Harper Collins etc. An<br>application for a further £2000 has been submitted to the local<br>community grant scheme<br><br>**Volunteer Reading Champions**– On hold during Covid/School<br>Closures. Programme will be relaunched in 2021, but with<br>recruitment and training delivered via schools.<br><br>**Sponsorship of local literacy based events**bringing free<br>literacy themed activities and events to local children, young<br>people and their families via the Power of Words family literacy<br>festival<br><br>**Little FREE Library**project commenced, with the installation of<br>three little libraries in locations<br><br>**FREE gifting of ‘A Place Called’**book and resources to families<br>in need during the Covid-19 crisis.<br>**3) Facilitating partnership opportunities to promote reading for**<br>**pleasure across communities.**<br><br>North Lincolnshire Council provide FREE support in kind,<br>includingtrainingand admin. the Words Count, Imagination Library and library teams to increase awareness of the trust and spreading consistent messages about the importance of reading 

- Health Tree Foundation and local Rotary Clubs support with fundraising for the Making Big Memories With Little Babies Project 

- Partnerships strengthened with schools and settings through the Volunteer Reading Champion programme. 

- Partnership formed with Tesco and the Landscape Partnership via the Little Free Libraries project. 

Section D                      Achievements and performance 

 Making Big Memories with Little Babies project continues to **Summary of the main** deliver free reading resources to families with babies on the **achievements of the charity** local NICU ward at Scunthorpe General Hospital. Further **during the year** volunteers have been recruited through the Health Tree Foundation to gift the resources on a weekly basis.  Over 60 Volunteer Reading Champions have now been trained to support children to develop their reading skills. They are working in schools across North Lincolnshire.  £250 donation received from the North Lincolnshire Rotary Swimarathon. This money was used to purchase Volunteer Reading Champion Resource kits.  £2000 funding was secured via the Tesco Bags on Help scheme. This money was used to design, make, install and fully stock 3 Little Free libraries, in the following locations; The ARC, Luddington & Garthorpe School and Belton Kitchen & Visitor Centre. Providing children will free access to quality books.  The Children’s Literacy Trust sponsored the Power of Words Festival free family theatre showing of Gangsta Granny in Baysgarth Park. All tickets sold out, with 500 people attending.  Over 300 copies of Addy’s book ‘A Place Called Home’, plus associated resources were gifted to families via children’s centres during the Covid-19 crisis.  Continue to receive regular small monthly donations from Lincs Lotto  Paypal account set up and PayPal Giving Fund application approved allowing donations to be made to the trust easily.
