These toke place at least monthly in order to maintain ano improve the Lea Fam Lake reserve and the conservatlon areas within Dinton Pastures Country Park. We pmvide a website to inforni the public about Lavell'5 Lake & Lea Farm Lake, its wildlrfe and facilities and our work and events. This includes a history of blrd recordin85 at the site that is publlcly available for conservatSon. research or other purposes. The website includes photographs and Si8htin85 of other wildlife.. flora. butterfi￿5 & moths. dragonflles & damselflies, and mammals. We undertake larger improvement projects either uslng the funds of the charfty. external resources, or a comblnatlon of the two. We wlsh to recognlse the great contributlon that members of the CIO. members of the publlc and rnember5 of other or8ani5ation5 make through their efforts durlng the year. Summary ofthe mJln Khl•v•m•nts ofth• charlty durln8 the ￿•1 Fami Lake and Lake Thls year we bullt a new vlewln8 screen wlth fundlng wecelved through the Waltrose Grrfe a Uttle love campalgn. We also needed to erect a new 8ate. lay a path to the Kreen, and plant shrubs to prevent footpath users from dlsturbln8 the blrd5. The Sate and path will be ihe access route to the new Hide which we plan to build in 2023. The Irnprovement to the habltat of both the Lea Farm Lake and iaveifs Lake Natu￿ Reserve sites has been delayed due to floodln8 earller in the year. Thi5 prokct was posslble thanks to a 8rant from Ihe Trust for Oxfordshire's Environment (TOEI. with fundln8 provlded by Netwowk Rail. The fundlng has enabled us to traln one of our volunteer5 to use a chainsaw and has bought a chainsaw, first aid kits and other safety equlpment. The followlng tasks are outstanding* coppicing wlllow to Improve the habitat for Loddon Lily at Lavells. s Lake Idue to be completed in March 20241 and transplantlng Phragmltes for the new reed bed at Lea Farm Lake. A donatlon from one of our members has enabled us to buy a stora8e container which is housed at Lea Farm Lake. Thls will be used to store equipment and t¢)ols used by work party volunteer5. Vohrteer wwkpartles We held 11 regular weekend work partles with 9 to 24 people attendin& the average attendance was 16. We We￿ also able to contlnue wlth the addStlonal week4ay work partles, 18 in total. These were attended by 6 to 19 people wrth an average attendance of 9. The week-day team completed the major task of buildlng the rkew Waltrose V￿wing screen, an access gate and the footpath to the screen as well as cutting trees to create a habltat for Nlghtlngales on the large island at Lavell's Lake. Other task5 included transplantin8 reeds to the excavated reedbed site and plantlng shrubs to provlde screenlng for the footpaths and pollarded willows. We have been able to maintain Interest in the Trust through news Items on our webstte and social media as well as a tslks wlth the headmasters of local secondary scTh¢ols.

We have received enquiries about possible corporate volunteer days and a group of Network Rall Volunteers joined us on one of our mid-week work parties. We were able to hold a Dawn Chorus walk this year as well as the 12 monthty bird walks. The GoFundMe fundraisin8 campaign for a new hide at Lea Fann Lake is on8oing and planning Is In progre5S. Takin8 on Le Farm Lake has meant a 518nlficant Increase In the assets LVTh has to malntaln and replace. The trustees have therefore decided to build up an asset management fund by settlng aslde funds each vear, startin8 With £l,(KM) in 2021 and adding a further £1.5(KJ in 2022.
