Wildmill Youth Club Annual Report - Charity commisioner Registered charity No : 1176913 ## Chairs Report We have continued to progress since our AGM last October. We still need both male and female Volunteers, we have 2 parents who help us out when they can. We have lost 2 committee members, and are looking for new committee members. We have updated our leaflets and keep our Facebook page up todate. We have 2 young volunteers who have completed their duke of Edinburgh award in school and they continue to volunteer with us. We worked in partnership with Baiobach food pantries, valleys to coast housing association and community centre to set up food pantry which now runs every Wednesday in community centre 4.40til 5.40. October 22 - Youth club attendance 7+ 60 children and young people attended.-Activities were planting spring bulbs, free play with loose parts, harvesting potatoes and carrots that the children and young people grew in our garden project. Music room. Dance attendance - 26 Willow weaving with out to learn to willow -halloween theme 16 attended Street Dance workshop with Zack Franks -15 attended. Halloween themed -Willow weaving, – out to learn to willow - and messy play activities. – 16 attended. ## November 22 Youth club attendance 7+ - 60 -children and young people. Activites - free play with loose parts, pool table, arts and crafts, music room, 8 young people went on bike ride with Andy and Rob from bad bikes. We had raspberry pie computer coding workshop with Rob from bad bikes and a computer was donated to the youth club -8 attended Trip to the Mountain View Ranch -Caerphilly -22 attended. ## December 22 Youth club attendance-40 -activities- Arts/crafts,cooking,music room and free play activites. 25 attended our Christmas party in the community centre. All the children and young people had selection packs. ## January 23 Closed due to renewal of Fire Door Febuary 23 Re -opened Youth club attendance -35- free play with loose parts, arts and crafts, music room bug themed day planned by children and young people, willow weaving, bug hunting, mud kitchen and messy play activities and glitter tattoos, Planting seeds. The children planned a bug themed event for half term week. Applied for Spar community cash back grant. Applied for B.C.B.C/W.A.G Warm Hub Grant. We have been awarded Clas Cymru Award for social farms and community garden. Debbie, children and young people worked together on a reliance plan with suggestions and an action plan for Clas Cymru. A water butt was suggested to help save rain water, the reliance plan was emailed to marie kiff -valleys to coast. V2C funded the water butt and connected it to the guttering so we could collect rain water. This has helped us a lot and the children have enjoyed watering the garden using the water butt. We were awarded the warm hub grant. A report was sent to local places for nature with photos. A voice recoding was made by 3 young people for the Clas Cymru award. 15 community gardens in the Uk have been honoured with the Clas cymru awards including our garden project. ## March 23 Youth Club - 87 attended the warm hub project – food provided was pizzas, pasta with pasta sauce and cheese, cheese toasties,sarnwiches, cheese and ham toasties, sausage mash and beans, vegetable soup and bread rolls were made by the young people, bread pudding was made by the young people and hot drinks were provided. Activites - music room, arts and crafts, planting seeds, affrican drumming workshop, bunting was decorated by children and young people for our plant and share event,, karoke, Willow weaving workshop, theme was easter bunnies and easter eggs, they made chocolate Krispie cakes. Some young people took part in R.H.S sow and grow campaign -planting herbs. Free play with loose parts. April 23 Youth Club - 30 attended, Activities- making fruit smoothies, planting wildflower and herb seeds, music, arts and crafts, loose play with loose parts. Cooking -rainbow pasta. Willow weaving workshop- making crowns. Our plant and share event went well despite the bad weather, we used the small room in the community centre for valleys to coast, which did seed bomb making, scavenger hunt and community consultation, we had plant sale, easter crafts, glitter tattoos, Awen Trust did arts and crafts and we had a raffle. May 23 Attendances – 45 attended – planting seeds in our vertical planters, free play with loose parts , arts and crafts. Cooking pasta, and cheese sauce, Affrican Drumming Work shop, den building, fruit smoothie making, Half term week-Picnic in wildflower meadow with cassie from plant life and children and young people learnt how to identify wildflowers and bees. Willow weaving .Planting flowers with Valleys to coast in planters around the estate. Reggie the van and pop up project-the children and young people made seed bombs , decorated pots and planted sunflower seeds. June 23 Half term week-23 attendecd trip to Plantasia in Swansea. 16 attended street dance workshop with Zack Franks. 36 attended. The rest of the month. Activites -den building, weeding raised walled planter out side the youth club and shops,we did happa zome- using clacio material, real leaves and flower, using hammers , the children collected the leaves and flowers they made bunting ready for our play day event. Arts and crafts, music room and computers. July 23 Youth Club - 31 attended , arts and crafts, music room, free play with loose parts, we attended the T-PAS awards evening with Valleys to Coast in Cardiff . We won the JUDGES -SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD. We had a party night with the children and young people to celebrate in the youth club and valleys to coast proved t Summer programme Picnic in wildflower meadow–Cassie plant life, bike ramps with bad bikes and willow weaving with out to learn to willow - 25attended Trip to Saint Fagans - 17 August 22 Summer programme Playday event – 100 attended this was very successful, supported by v2c,scavenger hunt, local councillors, Chris Harding and Steve helped set up and manned the slippy slide and filled up water trugs and Claire davies community member sold raffle tickets, Organised Kaos, Djs -young people from KPC , visit from Spider Man, Bridgend Lions had a stall, Brian Jones Keep Wales Tidy- local places for nature project supported by Cal Stevenson. 10 children with parents did planting. Messy play activities, slippy slide and circus skills were very popular. Diane morris 0ver 50’s club did tea and biscuits and chatted to the mayor and mayoress and Brooke Stanley took them around the event to meet different people and members in the community. Street dance workshop with Zack Franks- 23 attended Trip to Folly Farm- 30 ## September Youth club -24 attended free play with loose parts, arts and crafts, music room, planting spring bulbs, bug hunting in the garden. 3 young people have signed up for volunteering as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award. 24 attended circus skills workshop with Organised Kaos. Had meeting with food pantry, v2c and flying start.
