## Wildmill Youth Club Annual Report - Charity commisioner Registered charity No : 1176913 ## Chairs Report We have continued to progress since our AGM last October. We still need both male and female Volunteers, we have 2 parents who help us out when they can. We hope to enrol new committee members. We have updated our leaflets and keep our Facebook page up todate. October 21 - Youth club attendance 7+ 106 children and young people attended.-Activities were planting spring bulbs, free play with loose parts, Zumba, pool table and music room. Dance attendance - 26 Circus skills workshop with Organised Kaos – 18 attended. Street Dance workshop with Zack Franks -15 attended. Halloween themed -Willow weaving, – out to learn to willow - and messy play activities. – 16 attended. Applied to Persimmons Housing charitable foundation funds-£800 for different workshops Received sun credit grant £752.50 Applied for Community Foundation Fund in Wales for street dance workshop and other workshops Booked street dance workshop for February half term week Updated policies Nominated Ieaun Hay for High Sherriff Award ## November 21 Youth club attendance 7+ - 76 -children and young people. Activites - free play with loose parts, pool table, arts and crafts, music room, Zumba. Dance -8 attended. We were awarded the grant from Persimmonds Housing charity- community champions £800 Submitted the community foundation in wales grant application-£700 December 21 We were closed to volunteers illness Debbie Davies gave out selection packs to members January 22 The young people settled back in well after the Christmas holidays. Monthly Attendances – Youth Club - 6 – Activites - nail painting, arts and crafts and music room and free play with loose parts. Selections packs given to members who hadn’t received them. We were awarded the Community Foundation in Wales Grant- £700 Email from Council of Wales Voluntary Youth Servicewith regards to applying for free art packs for our families as part of inter wellbeing. Febuary 22 Youth club attendance -21- zumba, free play with loose parts, arts and crafts, music room. Half term hol’s – 12 attended youth club – messy play activities, planting seeds, free play with loose parts and V2c attended to do consultation with young people and their families on the update of their website. Street dance workshop with Zack Franks -5 attended. Registered for plant and share event with soil association and applied for food for life grant - £149.55 for resources for plant and share event. Worked with Alison Mawbly from Bavo to do health check questions on governance and funding. Linked in with Louise Cook from BCBC sports department for potential volunteers . Dance will not be starting back due to lack of volunteers. ## March 22 Youth Club - 47 attended –free play with loose parts, arts and crafts, zumba, pool, music room and planting wildflower seeds. Ideas for Designing street signs, for Valleys to coast. Messaged Bridgend Lions to apply ,for their community Grant. Ieaun Hay was awarded A High Sherriff Award for the support he gave his family as a young carer during Covid Lockdown. We were awarded the grant funding for the plant and share event for April. Applied to Arthur Clarke community fund for £1000 Received email, to say that 50 art packs will be delivered . ## April 22 Youth Club 40 attended, planting seeds, music, zumba, arts and crafts, loose play with loose parts. Circus skill workshop with organised Kaos- 11 attended Plant and share event 30 and we were able to attend the over 50’s club after the event to sell plants, some of their members donated us plant pots, seeds and bean poles. Debbie Davies judged their Easter bonnet completion the following week. Street dance workshop with Zack Franks -18 attended Willow weaving workshop -11 attended Arthur Clarke community fund has funded us £2000 Received message from Bridgend Lions to say we have been awarded a grant of £250 We have 4 young people volunteering with us ## May 18 Attendances – 40 attended – planting Sun flowers donated by V2C and Calendular seeds, -RHS schools and community groups, football skills with Craig Hopkins, free play with loose parts , arts and crafts. The children and young people started planning for the Play Day event in August. June 22 Half term week-Willow weaving -6 attended rugby skills with Craig Hopkins, free play with loose parts Youth Club attendance -25 Young people planned ideas for tuck shop and planned ideas for picnic for summer hols with Cassie plant life . Had meeting with Brian Jones Keep Wales Tidy- to discuss local places in Nature project and about the application for the grant for this project. Applied for this grant, which was successful. This will take place on our play day event so we can get local people from the community involved. ## July 22 Youth Club - 29 attended , arts and crafts, free play with loose parts, bike maintenance with Andy Mckay –Bad Bikes and Circus skills workshop with Organised Kaos Summer programme Picnic in wildflower meadow–Cassie plant life, bike ramps with bad bikes and willow weaving with out to learn to willow - 25attended Trip to Saint Fagans - 17 ## August 22 ## Summer programme Playday event – 100 attended this was very successful, supported by v2c,- scavenger hunt, local councillors, Chris Harding and Steve helped set up and manned the slippy slide and filled up water trugs and Claire davies community member sold raffle tickets, Organised Kaos, Djs -young people from KPC , visit from Spider Man, Bridgend Lions had a stall, Brian Jones Keep Wales Tidylocal places for nature project supported by Cal Stevenson. 10 children with parents did planting. Messy play activities, slippy slide and circus skills were very popular. Diane morris 0ver 50’s club did tea and biscuits and chatted to the mayor and mayoress and Brooke Stanley took them around the event to meet different people and members in the community. Street dance workshop with Zack Franks- 23 attended Trip to Folly Farm- 30 ## September 18 Youth club -24 attended free play with loose parts, arts and crafts, music room, planting spring bulbs, bug hunting in the garden. 3 young people have signed up for volunteering as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award. 24 attended circus skills workshop with Organised Kaos. Had meeting with food pantry, v2c and flying start. Hoping to set up a mobile community food pantry. .
