Sarratt & Chipperfeld Community Foundation. 2021 Review
Projects and support in the community
KGV Park:
SCCF was approached by the KGV committee and the Sarratt Parish Council to lead a potential new youth p roject in the Sarratt village for a skate park alongside the playing felds. Having supported this initiative and having had various community meetings. SPC has decided to pursue the p roject with SCCF support. It looks likely now that the whole playground is going to have a makeover. SCCF will be the vehicle for when the charitable giving starts through the SCCF website. Much work was done by us and now we have handed over to Steve Bailey to drive this forward with the skatepark designers F reestyle.
Sarratt Community Garden:
Community garden funding agreed for a Beehive and water harvester - SCCF supporting this p roject fnancially and rp actically. We have put this p roject under the banner of sustainable Sarratt. Water harvester was put in and SCCF paid for . it A good rg oup of volunteers have been gathered and this p roject is doing well and is likely to be self funding through 2022.
Local Help : Downer Drive
We were made aware of a welfare issue in Sarratt with a compromised couple really needing support in many ways.
They were living with food damage, no heating, f r di ge, cooker r o hot water. Unable to work due to a recent accident they were very much in need not only fnancially but living conditions were very terrible.
Partners in this were : 3 Rivers Housing - Rickmansworth Foodbank - Step up and learning wellbeing centre - South Oxhey Foodbank Baptist Church. All liaised with Angela and foodbank drops were made but have now stopped.
We have installed a new gas boiler, f r di ge, cooker and washing machine. Angela continues to support with phone calls and also helping the couple to get their benefts sorted. To date that has been successful. We also gave the garden a much needed rp une and makeover giving the overgrown t rees a good rt im which then allowed natural light back into the fat. The couple a re very g rateful for the much needed assistance. They thank SCCF.
Child Therapy in Schools - Sarratt and Chipperfeld
The child play therapist Mrs Gill Ward, SCCF funded for her rt aining, g raduated and started working in the two schools of Chipperfeld and Sarratt. She has reported ra eal increase in need rf om the children largely due to the pandemic.
“Thank you so much for your support and to the Sarratt and Chipperfeld Community Foundation for sponsoring Therapeutic Play Sessions at Sarratt P rimary School. The demand for Mental Health Support for our children remains very high and is keeping me busy. I currently p rovide four sessions a week with a range of needs and will be o rganising some g roup sessions in the near future.
There has been a positive response to the sessions carried out, and we have seen signifcant improvements across all four categories of emotional difculties recorded by the parents and referrers of the children ”.
I am looking forward to continuing to support the children at Sarratt and St Paul’s P rimary Schools as we move into 2022 and once again thank you for your support.
Kind regards,
Gill Ward

Pop Up Café
Community Cafe was stalled due to C 19 fo . r the f rst part of 2021.
The restrictions were lifted late summer and we were able to open again in September. We invited the local A rtists to join us to share what they had been working on during lock down 2. The amount of people who came along really showed how the Cafe had been missed.
A g reat success and the Cafe has had two more Cafe’s before the end of 2021. Community Cafe covers its costs and always has some money left over to bank in the SCCF account. Much loved community gathering. Good rg oup of volunteers.
Sustainable Sarratt :
The community g roup supported by SCCF due to Covid held just two meetings in 2021 towards the end of the year. Focused on stopping the pollution of the river Chess and how the village can become more sustainable. This g roup is also supporting the garden p roject
Support for those living Alone - Care Alarms.
This much needed support has continued in 2021 in partnership with the Sarratt Parish Council. There have been some deaths and at the end of 2021 SCCF is funding nine local folk with essential Care Alarms.
