**Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document** 

The objectives of PAG are: 1. To promote social inclusion by working with people in Gloucestershire and the surrounding area who are socially excluded on the grounds of their ethnic origin, religion, social or economic position (in particular, members of the Polish Community) to relieve the needs of such people and assist them to integrate into society. 2. To provide a local network group offering support, services and assistance designed to relieve needs, encourage and enable people to participate more effectively with the wider community. 3. To provide social and recreational facilities and events involving the local community, designed to foster community cohesion and raise awareness and understanding of Polish art, culture, heritage and history. 4. To advance education by providing a supplementary school for Polish background children, with tuition in Polish language, history, culture and tradition.

**1. Introduction** Polish Association Gloucestershire (PAG) is a registered charity committed to promoting Polish culture and history, advancing education, providing services and promoting social inclusion. We are dedicated to positively impacting the local community living in Gloucestershire, in particular, but not exclusive to members of the Polish community. **2. Activities and Achievements** During the past year, Polish Association Gloucestershire achieved the following: -Polish Saturday School – Akademia Polska significantly increased the number of pupils compared to previous years. -There were also smaller events during the year – Cleaning Polish cemetery in Chipping Campden, the celebration of Polish Independence Day in November and the Christmas Market in December. **Summary of the main activities undertaken for** -PAG organised Polish Heritage Day again in the traditional **the public benefit in** format. The total income for the year was **£118,447** , while total expenditure reached **£89,548** , resulting in a **net surplus of £28,889** . This outcome reflects a balanced approach — maintaining sufficient reserves while ensuring that funds are actively

directed toward PAG’s charitable objectives. Spending on educational and community activities, including schoolrelated costs and cultural events, remained the largest expenditure category, demonstrating PAG’s ongoing commitment to its mission. Two primary sources of income continued to be a subscription to Saturday School and external grants. PAG’s reserves are maintained at reasonable levels in order to provide sufficient buffer should the charity see a sudden decrease in donations or decrease the number of fee paying students at Polish Saturday School. **5. Conclusion** The Trustees are pleased to report that throughout 2024, the Polish Association Gloucestershire has continued to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of its beneficiaries and the wider community. PAG remains steadfast in its mission to promote cultural, educational, and social engagement, and looks forward to further strengthening its activities and outreach in the years ahead. The Trustees extend their sincere gratitude to all volunteers, supporters, and donors for their dedication, generosity, and invaluable contributions of time and effort.

PAG is a volunteeer-led charity. All School staff are paid contractors. PAG also created a position for a part-time Carers Coordinator by the use of Carers Grant Funding from Gloucestershire County Council.

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

During 2024, the charity continued to deliver its core activities with notable success. The Polish Saturday School remained a cornerstone of PAG’s work, providing supplementary education in Polish language, history, and culture to school-aged children. This initiative plays a vital role in helping young people maintain a strong connection to their heritage while growing up in the UK, fostering pride in their identity and cultural roots. 

The annual Polish Heritage Day once again celebrated Polish culture and strengthened community ties across Gloucestershire. The event promoted mutual understanding and respect between communities and received positive coverage in both local and national media. 

PAG also expanded its volunteer base and developed new projects and events that continue to nurture a sense of belonging and shared identity among Poles living in Gloucestershire.
