The objectives of PAG are:

To promote social inclusion by working with people in Gloucestershire and the surrounding area who are socially excluded on the grounds of their ethnic origin, religion, social or economic position (in particular, members of the Polish Community) to relieve the needs of such people and assist them to integrate into society.

To provide a local network group offering support, services and assistance designed to relieve needs, encourage and enable people to participate more effectively with the wider community.

To provide social and recreational facilities and events involving the local community, designed to foster community cohesion and raise awareness and understanding of Polish art, culture, heritage and history.

1. Introduction Polish Association Gloucestershire (PAG) is a registered charity committed to promoting Polish culture and history, advancing education, providing services and promoting social inclusion. We are dedicated to positively impacting the local community living in Gloucestershire, in particular, but not exclusive to members of the Polish community. 2. Activities and Achievements During the past year, Polish Association Gloucestershire achieved the following: -Polish Saturday School – Akademia Polska significantly increased the number of pupils compared to previous years. -There were also smaller events during the year – Cleaning Polish cemetery in Chipping Campden, the celebration of Polish Independence Day in November and the Christmas Market in December. -PAG organised Polish Heritage Day again in the traditional format. Governance Polish Association Gloucestershire is governed by a board of trustees, all of whom serve on a voluntary basis. The board provide oversight and guidance to the charity's operations. 4. Financial Overview PAG's financial position during the 2023 was strong resulting in surpluses which increased the levels of reserves by a total of £12,929 including accounting for capital expenditure (£6,329 increase to cash reserves). The total annual income was £105,230 (19% increase on previous year; 2022: £88,472), and the expenditure was £92,301 (2022: £70,388). The forecast for 2024 shows a steady level of income and expenditure. PAG is not accumulating excessive funds, but puts the income into maximising its charitable objectives and outcomes.

Two primary sources of income continued to be a subscription to Saturday School and external grants.
PAG’s reserves are maintained at reasonable levels in order to provide sufficient buffor should the charity see a sudden decrease in donations or decrease the number of fee paying students at Polish Saturday School. Trustees recognize that the level of reserves has been growing steadily over the past few year and are looking to update the Reserves Strategy during 2024.
5. Conclusion
We are pleased to report that the Polish Association Gloucestershire has continued to positively impact and serve our beneficiaries and the wider community during 2023. PAG remains committed to its mission and will strive to improve its services and reach in the coming years.
The Trustees want to thank all volunteers, supporters and donors for their time, commitment and generuos donations.

PAG is a volunteeer-led charity. All School staff are paid contractors. PAG also created a position for a part-time Carers Coordinator by the use of Carers Grant Funding from Gloucestershire County Council.

Section D Achievements and Performance
Summary of the main The main achievements of the charity in 2023 included successful achievements of the charity provision of suplementary Polish education to school aged children, during the year where Polish language, history and culture are tought. The 2023 Polish Heritage Day (PHD) was a huge success attended by approx 6,000 visitors. The venet promoted Polish culture and helped to build awareness of Polish heritage within the local community, which is important to build good relations based on mutual respect and appreciation.
The 2023 PHD was mentioned in Polish national media and Gloucestershire local news.
The chairty has been successful in attracting more volunteers and organising new projects and events such as poetry evenings, and therefore provide the sense of community and identity for Poles living in Gloucestershire.

Maciej Stanke, trustee of PAG received £8,307 for his work as a Head Teacher in Saturday School. Some of that related to the invoices received late in respect of 2022. Olga Cebula, connected person to trustee of PAG received £1,450 for her work as a Teacher in Saturday School.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended DD / MM / YYYY .

Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
